No more remembering or typing in unsafe passwords, no more fear of prying eyes: With this fingerprint sensor you can easily upgrade your Windows system. All you need is a free USB port. The FPS00200 recognizes your fingerprint and logs you into Windows in under a second. For the initial setup, your fingerprints must be «learned». A smart algorithm helps here, which learns through frequent repetition and speeds up recognition. 10 different fingers can be taught — either all from one person or from several. The sensor surface enables a 360° Recognition. The finger does not have to be placed at a certain angle. This is really suitable for everyday use. Once you have experienced this function, you will never want to be without it.
A notice:
Please note that there are 2 versions of the fingerprint sensor. Both have the same functionality, but the drivers are different. Windows automatically installs the appropriate driver. The difference is only relevant if there are technical problems. More on this at the end of this article.
Windows Hello
Biometric login is already included in Windows 10 and is called Windows Hello. No software installation is therefore necessary, everything is prepared in Windows 10 / 11. The drivers are also included in Windows or can be loaded automatically via an online connection (Windows Update) if required. Over time, other software applications will be possible with Windows Hello. This only depends on the third-party software, the fingerprint sensor is ideally suited for this. In the Edge and Chrome browsers, you can already log in to websites using your fingerprint. Password managers can also use the fingerprint as a master password. Many services now support Passkeys for convenient login. Such a passkey can be protected by Windows Hello using a biometric fingerprint or PIN.
If the fingerprint sensor is removed from the computer, the usual password or PIN is used. When it is plugged in again, the fingerprint login is immediately activated again. There is no need to set it up again. No fingerprints are stored on the PC. The USB dongle is therefore the only interface for input. The dongle can be used alternating on different computers, but must be set up individually on each machine.
For Linux or MacOS there are currently no drivers for the FPS00200 available. The hardware IDs of the current chipset Focaltech are (VID) 2808 and (PID) 93A9, or for Microarray (VID) 3274 and (PID) 8012.
Driver installation under Win 10/11
When updating from Microsoft Windows Update, it may happen that the driver is not installed automatically. In this case, the necessary driver for the fingerprint reader should be selected manually. To do this, in Windows 10 , select Windows Update “ Show optional updates ”. Then check the driver for a biometric device if available.
For Windows 11: Under » Windows Update > Advanced options » the switch for » Receive updates for other Microsoft products » must be turned on. The driver for the FPS0020 can then be found under » Optional updates > Driver updates» if it has not yet been installed.
Drivers as download (CAB format) for manual installation, also for Windows 11 versions, are available in the Microsoft Update Catalog .

If you have problems:
If the driver is installed correctly in the Control Panel (entry under «Biometric Devices» and no exclamation marks), but Windows Hello does not offer fingerprint recognition, the error could be due to the power saving settings:
Please uncheck the box so that the device is always active when you are using the PC. This also makes it possible to wake it up from standby.
If you receive an error message when using the FPS00200, please try a different USB port on your PC. Some USB ports on a docking station, hub or USB 1.1 ports (designed for mouse/keyboard) are not suitable.

Windows 10
Windows 10
Windows 10
Windows 10
Windows.
Windows.
Windows
Windows Hello is such a feature that lets users log in to Windows 10 without making efforts to remember the password. This biometric authentication is pretty straightforward to access the PC through facial or fingerprint recognition. Though this service sounds great, some users experience Windows Hello Fingerprint Option Currently Unavailable message.

- After creating the backup, delete the files from original folder.
- Now, head back to the Services manager again, right-click on Windows Biometric Service and select Restart.
- Once the above steps are done, fire up Settings => Accounts => Sign -in options => and go through the registration procedure again to re-register the biometric.
- If the device has multiple users, each of them has to re-register.
4] Modify Group Policy Settings (For Pro version only)
There is a possibility that the installation of Creators Update has altered certain Biometric settings in Group Policy. Therefore, experts advise to check and edit the setting of Windows Hello and make sure everything is perfect. So, observe the below group policy settings and edit if it requires –
- Type “gpedit” on taskbar search and hit Enter to open Group Policy Editor.
