Windows 8 Start Screen Customizer — это небольшая и портативная программа, которая предназначена для персонализации начального экрана Windows 8 (стартового экрана).
Устанавливать ее нет необходимости, так как утилита Portable. Вы можете разместить исполняемый файл приложения в любом месте и запускать его при необходимости. Либо же удалить без проблем в любой момент как обычный файл. В качестве альтернативы вы можете переместить настройщик начального экрана Windows 8 на флешку или аналогичный накопитель, чтобы потом запускать прогу оттуда.
Важным фактором является то, что программа не оставляет записей в системном реестре Windows, а остатки не сохраняются на жестком диске после удаления утилиты.
Интерфейс же выполнен в виде стандартного окна , где вы можете предварительно просмотреть расположение кнопок и внешний вид изменений.
В Windows 8 Start Screen Customizer можно изменить количество строк, начальный экран и непрозрачность плиток, а также загрузить картинку с локального диска или съемного диска для использования в качестве обоев рабочего стола.
