- Windows 7 Build 7068 x86 LIP (40.6 MB, язык: русский, freeware)
- Windows 7 Build 7068 x64 LIP (50.4 MB, язык: русский, freeware).

With Windows 7 Release Candidate still about a month away, some of our readers who wishes to remain anonymous have tipped us about Windows 7 Build 7068 which appears to have leaked on the internet (torrent sites) today. This latest build carries the build string of 7068.winmain.090321-1322 which means that it was compiled on 21st March 2009.
This is the same build whose screenshot was yesterday reported to have mistakenly leaked by a Japanese Microsoft Blogger.
UPDATE: x64 version of Windows 7 Build 7068 is out too.

On his MSDN blog, Shinobu Takahashi has posted screenshots of a very recent Windows 7 build. It is the first proof of a 706x build, but the changes aren’t very apparent from the screenshot. The build string is «7068.winmain.090321-1322,» which indicates that it was compiled less than a week ago: March 21, 2009, at 1:22 pm.
As you can see above and below, Microsoft has started tweaking the gadgets it will offer by default with Vista’s successor. When I did my comparison of the beta and build 7057, I noticed that the gadgets had not changed, save for a new image for the Windows Media Center’s.
With build 7068, it seems that the CPU meter has gone from analog to digital, that there is a new gadget for battery life, and that there is a different Calendar gadget. Of course, I’m assuming that these gadgets are the default ones, which should become clear soon enough. Build 7068 was very close to leaking to the public, but I’m sure that this one, or a newer one, will leak before testers get the RC-escrow build next month.
Update
Now that 7068 has leaked into the wild, anyone can get you the latest screenshots. For example, users over at Seven Forums and JCXP have already started snapping shots of their desktops. It turns out that my assumption the gadgets were changed was completely wrong: all three do not come bundled with 7068.
The latest build of the next iteration of the Microsoft developed operating system, Windows 7 Build 7068, has just made an appearance on the most popular torrent sites out there. It comes in the form of a DVD ISO, and reports from those who managed to download and install the OS say it is the genuine article. From a visual point of view, Windows 7 Build 7068 comes with new wallpapers and user pictures.
Windows 7 Build 7068 comes with a total of 84 different wallpapers that weigh in at 54Megabytes. There 10 folders in total (Architecture, Australia, Canada, Characters, Great Britain, Landscapes, Nature, Scenes, United States, Zimbabwe), each of these folders containing six wallpapers. The good news is that if you want to get these wallpapers you do not necessarily need to get Windows 7 Build 7068 – and the same goes for the new user pictures.
Windows 7 build 7068 is available for 32-bit processor machines (7068.0.090321-1322_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRC1CULFRE_EN_DVD.iso) and 64-bit processor ones as well (7068.0.090321-1322_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRC1CULXFRER_EN_DVD.iso). As you can see from the full name of the OS, it was compiled on the 21st of March 2009, leading many on the web to ask this question: How come the build was so rapidly leaked online? Internauts and media outlets are suspecting Microsoft is behind this; or at least is turning a blind eye to people that sneak out recent Windows 7 builds and post them online.
Proof of how laxed security is over at Microsoft is the fact that screenshots of yet another Windows 7 build, mainly Build 7070, have leaked online as well. Now there are two things that you must take into consideration:
1. Microsoft is not going to mind much about all this as long as it generates good feedback regarding the Windows 7 OS.
2. Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC) which a TechNet slipup revealed it will become available by June at most, will be freely made available to the general public. Making a big fuss over some online leak bears little importance if you are going to give away a more advanced build later on, for free.
