This article details the steps to upgrade a device from the Home edition of Windows to the Pro edition of Windows.
The best way to upgrade from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro is through the Microsoft Store. To begin, select the following shortcut to open the Microsoft Store to the Windows upgrade page.
Upgrade to Windows 11 Pro
When Windows is upgraded through the Microsoft Store, it detects whether the current installation of Windows 11 Home edition is activated and then guide accordingly.
Important: The following steps apply only to devices currently running an activated copy of Windows 11 Home. If Windows 11 isn’t activated, Microsoft recommends activating Windows 11 Home first. For more information, see Activate Windows.
To upgrade from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro manually, first check which edition is running and the activation state:

Select Start and then select Settings > System > Activation .

The edition of Windows is shown at the top of the window next to the Windows logo.

The activation state is shown next to Activation state. For details on the activation state, select Activation state.
Once Windows is confirmed that it’s activated, check if you have a Windows Pro product key. For more information, see Find your Windows product key.
Select the appropriate scenario depending on if a Windows Pro product key is available:

Next to Change product key, select the Change button.
Note: If the User Account Control window appears, enter a user name and password of an account that has administrator privileges on the Windows device, and then select the Yes button.

In the Change Product Key window that opens, enter the 25-character Windows 11 Pro product key.

Select Next to start the upgrade to Windows 11 Pro.

Expand Upgrade your edition of Windows by selecting it.
Note: If Upgrade your edition of Windows isn’t available, the edition of Windows 11 might already be at Pro, or edition upgrade might not be available.

Next to Upgrade in the Microsoft app under the Upgrade your edition of Windows section, select the Open Store button.

When the Microsoft Store app opens, follow the instructions to upgrade to the Pro edition of Windows 11, making sure you’re signed in with your Microsoft account when purchasing Windows 11 Pro.

Method 1. Manually upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro by upgrading Windows Store
1. Open Windows Store, log in with your Microsoft Account, click on your account icon and select Download and Updates;
2. Select Store, click Update under Store;
Wait for the Windows Store update process to complete.
3. After the update, search Windows 10 in the search box and click on it;
4. After this, click Install to upgrade your Windows 10 from Home to Pro edition.
5. Click Yes, let’s go to confirm the upgrade process.
If the process is 100%, which means that it’s almost done and you’ll need to restart your PC manually when you receive Succeed message.

Step 1: Open Command Prompt with Administrator Rights

Step 2: Check Available Editions
In the Command Prompt, type the following command and press Enter:
Dism /Online /Get-TargetEditions
This command will display all the Windows editions your current installation can be upgraded to.
Step 3: Start the License Manager Service
Type the following command in the Command Prompt and press Enter:
sc config LicenseManager start= auto & net start LicenseManager
This command ensures that the License Manager service is set to start automatically and starts the service immediately.
Step 4: Start the Windows Update Service
Type the following command in the Command Prompt and press Enter:
sc config wuauserv start= auto & net start wuauserv
This command sets the Windows Update service to start automatically and starts the service.
Step 5: Enter the Windows 10 Pro Product Key
Type the following command in the Command Prompt, replacing VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T with your valid Windows 10 Pro product key, and press Enter:

Step 6: Wait for the Upgrade to Complete
Depending on your PC performance, the upgrade process might take a while. During this time, your computer will install the necessary updates and features for the new Windows edition. Your computer will automatically restart during this process.
Step 7: Verify the Upgrade
Once the upgrade is complete, right-click on «This PC» or «My Computer» on your desktop or in File Explorer. Select «Properties.» In the System About section, verify that the edition now should be Pro.

Вы можете только апгрейдить редакции Windows 10/11 (например, Home -> Pro или Home -> Education). Сценарий даунгрейда доступен для Education -> Pro и Enterprise -> Pro). LTSC редакцию Windows 10 можно обновить до Enterprise или более новой LTSC.
Изменить редакцию Windows 10 или 11 с Pro до Enterprise
Если вы хотите обновиться с Professional редакции Windows 10/11 до Enterprise:
- Проверьте текущую редакцию:
DISM /online /Get-CurrentEdition - До каких целевых редакций возможно обновление:
DISM /online /Get-TargetEditions
- Укажите ваш ключ для Enterprise редакции в следующей команде:
Changepk.exe /ProductKey NPPR9-FWDCX-D2C8J-H872K-2YT43 - Через одну-две минуты редакция вашей Windows 10 изменится на Enterprise (подтверждение и перезагрузка не требуется). Осталось только активировать вашу Windows онлайн (если у вас есть свой ключ) или на KMS сервере (если вы использовали GVLK ключ).
