But it looks dead for now. Moreover it was connected to Insider version of system which is useless now.
I want to bring newest Windows into my machine in work which got Windows 7 Pro license and MSI MS-7008 motherboard and Pentium 4 478 Socket.
I’ve found some info that Pentium 4 SL8JX with 478 Socket got EMT64 and NX Bit:

But it’s very hard to find (and possibily even processor alone won’t give possibility to run w10).
Also there exist NX Bypass for W8:

which worked with Insider Edition of W10, now it doesn’t. There is no possibility to open WIM file.
Any ideas ?? Maybe someone did it here ??

) is an 1999 model and has a celeron 1.8 Ghz processor,333 Mhz in it .the IBM think centre is a 2004. M50 8189 32u, with the following specs. the spec sheet does not say HT but the tag on the unit does. also says IBM Manf of the board.is as far as the CPU/Bios, doesn’t seem to be any place in the bios to enable or disable
the PAE or other functions. and your other questrion as to checking the Man website, yes i have , there are some firts run Lenovo think centres that are listed for the anniversary update, but NO original IBM’s listed at all in any category ! And only certain

so that is whats in the IBM and the Gateway. as i said above. neither of these machines are listed for win 10 anniversary editions.1511, or 1607!

P4 524 has NX，so you can install win10 on your rig with no mod.
In fact, every single LGA775 CPU has NX except Gallatin P4 extreme, and I found some of s478 P4 has NX too, although you may not find it’s NX feature in BIOS setup or in hardware detecting software, but those cpu can run Windows NX functions easily.

If it has NX, it isn’t really old! A much worse restriction is SSE2.
I have an old Celeron x86-only PC that can not run anything newer as Windows 7. But it still gets updates as it supports SSE2. Other machines without SSE2 stopped getting updates in 2018 (or ’19?). Now on AntiX Linux.

most of s478 CPUs don’t has NX, so I have to mod windows kernel, it’s really hard to make it, but I did it at last.
Windows 10 just not only checks CPU’s NX and SSE2 and PAE, but also use these features in many functions, for the OS kernel thinks CPU has these features for sure, but old CPU has not in fact.

you don’t need the rare EM64T s478 CPU for NX, some normal s478 chips have no NX flag or NX feature bit, but really can do some NX things, I call this as invisible NX

Wow, really cool to see modern versin of Win10 running on 478. I have one of those P4 3.4GHz x64 and would like to try x64 version of Win10. Win 8.1 x64 runs somehow but not so smooth as x86.

need to know what specific win10 version you are running on your Intel s478 computerI think the 1809 version of Win10 (that includes ltsc 2019) may have broken support for Intel s478 CPUs since that one did not work on old Intel «Yonah» based 32bit laptop cpus & certain Intel Pentium M «Dothan» cpus (these specific processors do have nx, sse2 & pae support but are 32bit only, no 64bit support)
the 1803 & older versions of Win10 (as well as the 1903 & higher versions) did work with these old x86/32bit laptop cpus — just not the 1809 version and would never boot up -
In my screenshots, win10 build 10586 is ver. 1511, and win10 build 18363 is ver. 1909. THX for your info, I would try to mod ver. 1809 later.

Привет друзья Сегодня хотел бы поделится с вами мыслями о моем любимом процессоре Pentium 4, конечно он старый и я уже им не пользуюсь, но тем не менее когда то это был великий процессор И стоил кстати бешеных денег.
Тем не менее, многие пользователи до сих пор имеют компьютеры на базе Pentium 4, а некоторые даже сидят на них, да что там некоторые, даже я сидел до недавнего времени
Вернемся к вопросу, можно ли поставить Windows 10 на Pentium 4? Давайте возьмем самую распространенную модель на 775-тый сокет и оптимальную в плане температуры (Пентиумы хорошо могут греться) — это процессор Pentium 4 630, который также имеет на борту технологию Hyper-Threading, что дает видеть системе такой процессор как двух-ядерный.
Я лично сидел не на этом процессоре, а на более мощном — это Pentium 4 670, но он очень горячий зараза, настолько что плата с обратной стороны почернела.
Pentium 4 630 спокойно справится с Windows 10, так как имеет штатную частоту 3 ГГц, 2 мб кэша и два потока, этого достаточно для того, чтобы посмотреть фильмы (но не в самом высоком качестве конечно), поработать в офисе, посерфить в интернете. По поводу флеш-видео могу скачать точно, что в качестве 720 у меня ролики с Ютуба работали, а выше — уже могли быть глюки. Тут еще от браузера зависит, у меня почему-то в Хроме показывало хорошо, а в Мозилле — уже подтормаживало.
Кстати Pentium 4 также поддерживает и 64-битные Windows А самое интересное, что стоит этот процессор сегодня — копейки, если перевести в доллары, то можно найти за 3-5 долларов, ну может чуть дороже. В той же ценовой категории и более старшие собратья Pentium D
Единственный реальный минус этого процессора — это его тепловыделение, хотя 630-тая модель и не очень горячая, но советую заранее позаботится об охлаждении, а также учтите что он потребляет 84 Ватт. Вот такие вот минусы
Самое главное, чтобы хватало оперативной памяти, вот что нужно! Чтобы вы могли более-менее нормально работать за компом, с документами, смотреть странички интернета, вам нужно 2 гб ОЗУ, а лучше все 4 гб! Тип памяти тут особо роли не играет, то есть материнка с DDR2 ничем особо выигрывать в производительности не будет по сравнению с DDR1.
Ну а во всем остальном это обычный процессор, просто одноядерный, можно поставить Windows 10 — работать будет более-менее шустро, конечно о играх речи не идет, хотя, многие игры (судя по роликам на Ютубе) он сможет потянуть в паре с хорошей видеокартой.

Совсем забыл и даже не знаю как я мог об это не написать! В общем с процессором Pentium 4 есть один интересный момент (в принципе других это тоже касается). А именно то, что для того чтобы нормально установить Windows 10, нужно чтобы процессор поддерживал такие технологии как PAE, NX и SSE2! Впрочем многие процессоры это все поддерживают, даже учитывая 775-тый сокет, но уточнить нужно. Главное чтобы не было ошибки что мол ваш процессор не поддерживается! Все остальное — можно решить!
На тот же Pentium 4 630 поставить Windows 10 можно, вот один человек поставил даже при 1 Гб ОЗУ (извините за качество, это снимок экрана):
А вот то, где реально уже мало шансов установить Windows 10 — это на процессоры 478 сокета, тут да, это уже слишком старая платформа.
Это не касается Windows 7, тут шансов намного больше, что она установится как на 775-тый так и 478-мой сокет! Удачи
