Microsoft has just started pushing out the long anticipated official Windows 10 Mobile operating system for older Windows 8.x phones, but only some phones are on the list at launch.
First of all, if you’re looking to run a non-insider version of Windows 10 Mobile, either if you haven’t ever upgraded, or if you want to roll back and get out of the Windows Insider program and on to a production build, here’s the list of phones supported at launch:
Phones and devices that can upgrade to Windows 10:

Then, if either your phone is not on this initial list (and remember more phones will be added over time), or you want to join the Windows Insider program, here’s the full list of those supported phones:
• Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL
• BLU Win HD W510U
• BLU Win HD LTE X150Q
• Lumia 430
• Lumia 435
• Lumia 532
• Lumia 535
• Lumia 540
• Lumia 550
• Lumia 635 (1GB)
• Lumia 636 (1GB)
• Lumia 638 (1GB)
• Lumia 640
• Lumia 640 XL
• Lumia 650
• Lumia 730
• Lumia 735
• Lumia 830
• Lumia 930
• Lumia 950
• Lumia 950 XL
• Lumia 1520
• MCJ Madosma Q501
• Xiaomi Mi4
Note that this is an expanded list of Windows Insider ready phones, up from the original list of phones that shipped with Windows 10 Mobile.
So, if you haven’t upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile via the Windows Insider program, you can as of now using the Upgrade Advisor. If you’re wanting to join the Insider program, you can install the Windows Insider app on your phone, using the link below:
If you are still holding to that Windows 10 Mobile after what Satya Nadella said, you definitely should get a bravery award, but then if you are holding to Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 Xl, its time to drop the bass. Microsoft has rolled out a list of official Windows 10 Mobile devices that are eligible to receive the Fall Creators Update, and both the devices are chalked off the list.
Nobody saw it coming because nobody is really bothered about Windows 10 Mobile anymore, but for those who are still holding to it, here is the list of supported phones for Windows 10 Mobile Fall Creators Update
- HP Elite x3.t
- HP Elite x3 (Verizon).
- HP Elite x3 (Telstra).
- Wileyfox Pro.
- Microsoft Lumia 550.
- Microsoft Lumia 650.
- Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL.
- Alcatel IDOL 4S.
- Alcatel IDOL 4S Pro.
- Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL.
- Softbank 503LV.
- VAIO Phone Biz.
- MouseComputer MADOSMA Q601.
- Trinity NuAns Neo.
Zac at Windows Central notes that even though Wileyfox Pro and HP Elite x3 Verizon devices aren’t actually on sale, they are in the list. It is quite possible that they might become available for Business consumers or enterprise which is primary for Microsoft.
Microsoft dropped support for many devices when they moved Windows 10 Mobile to Anniversary and Creators Update, so expect that to keep happening.
