Solution for a fatal error occurred while creating a TLS client credential
Now that we gathered all the information, we are going to enable TLS 1.2 on the system by running the script. After a reboot, we will check the Event Viewer. It should not show any errors.
- Download Enable-TLS1.2.ps1 PowerShell script if you have Windows Server 2019 or lower / Download Enable-TLS1.3.ps1 PowerShell script if you have Windows Server 2022 or higher
- Save the script in the C:\scripts folder

Each day shortly after logon, my windows 10 log fills with numerous copies of SChannel Error 36871:
«A fatal error occurred while creating a TLS client credential. The internal error state is 10013.»
I do not see any symptoms of this error that I recognize as such — failed secure connections etc.
The error occurs both before and after domain connectivity is established — as indicated by NtpClient.
Despite the error being «fatal», it repeats 2-4 times, followed by an increasing pause before repeating again.
My question is, first and foremost, what does internal error state 10013 indicate?

After reading about the problem on the Microsoft Community thread Event ID 36871 — Repeating TLS Error 10013.
I disabled SSL 3.0, rebooted, then re-enabled it and rebooted again, and the errors are gone.I used Nartac IIS Crypto to do the job as many people seem to be doing, but as the website states, you could use the information from the Microsoft Doc to do it manually.

- Paste the script in PowerShell ISE.
- Press – Enter.
- Restart the Windows Server.
- Now open Start Event Viewer. Go to Windows Logs and click – System.
- You will no longer find The error “Event ID 36871: A fatal error occurred while creating a TLS client credential. The internal error state is 10013.”
