Symptoms
In Windows 7, you may encounter an issue in which gadgets intermittently do not start.
Cause
This issue occurs because of an internal race condition that occurs during the Windows Sidebar startup process.
Resolution
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
If the hotfix is available for download, there is a «Hotfix download available» section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.

Если гаджеты одно время работали и вдруг перестали,то нужно, для начала, восстановить систему. Заходим в «Пуск->Все программы->Стандартные->Служебные->Восстановление системы». Высветится окно восстановления системы, жмем «Далее».Нам дается на выбор одна или несколько точек восстановления,если несколько,то вспоминаем когда или после чего вдруг перестали работать гаджеты,ищем нужную дату и жмем «Далее->Готово». Компьютер автоматически начнет восстановление.
Если этот способ не помог, то ищем установочный диск с Windows 7,которая стоит на компьютере.Ставим диск в дисковод и перезагружаем компьютер. Как только на экране появятся надписи «del» итд. Жмем кнопку Del, открывается окно Bios. Находим настройки загрузки Windows(в каждом Bios по-разному). Устанавливаем загрузку с дисковода, сохраняемся и выходим. При загрузке с диска нам должны дать на выбор несколько вариантов-это полная установка и восстановление имеющейся, выбираем восстановление и следуем инструкциям. Должно все получиться.

на днях столкнулась с проблемой — у меня перестали отображаться гаджеты на рабочем столе.
конечно первая моя мысль как человека опасливого — ВИРУС!!!
однако она была ошибочной конечно
итак, я создаю тему для тех у кого возникли или возникнут схожие проблемы — ибо я на своём опыте который раз убеждаюсь, что дельные советы которые помагают решить ту или иную проблему сложно найти (хотя они несомненно есть!)
перейдем к сути проблемы и её решения
в неуловимый момент на моем компе перестали работать и отображаться гаджеты как я уже говорила
(т.е. сама панель гаджетов была загружена и функционировала — но некорректно)
Google в помощь…
я нашла тему где советовали через консоль прописать следующее
regsvr32 atl.dll
regsvr32 corpol.dll
regsvr32 dispex.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 scrrun.dll
regsvr32 scrobj.dll
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 wshext.dll
regsvr32 wshom.ocx
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 ole32.dll
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
… что я и сделала, однако:
при выполнении следующих 2-х строк
regsvr32 wshext.dll
regsvr32 wshom.ocx
имелА место ошибкА (0x80040201)
google again !
вариантов нашла много вплоть до того чтобы снести Ось (ИМХО из-за гаджетов не разумно)
решение КОНКРЕТНО МОЕЙ ПРОБЛЕМЫ оказалось очень простым
1)открыть реестр (пуск-выполнить-regedit)
2)найти следующий раздел
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Win dows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\
3) в нем над папкой номер 0 есть папка с названием отображающимся «псевдо-графическим» символом
Вот её то и надо удалить
У меня это выглядело так:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Win dows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\]
(решение предложил некто sv_vv за что ему огромное спасибо!!!)

, поигрался с файлом Settings.ini, и всё заработало! Единственный нюанс — в статье автор советует прописать название своего города и страны английскими буквами, а я прописал русскими, и не страну указал, а федеральный округ, ибо так и было прописано до того, как он слетел.

и гаджет я перед манипуляциями с системным файлом закрыл, а после сохранения нового файла в папке гаджет сам запустился.

Тут уже дело вкуса я к этому гаджету уже привык, да и не только я — родственникам на их компах включал, а у них потом начали слетать один за другим, так они давай меня просить, мол, сделай, что-нибудь. Перешёл по официальной ссылке от мягкомелких с вкладки гаджетов и прочитал, что, мол, так и так, опасное это дело, дескать, вражеские силы могут следить за тобой через гаджеты эти, и посему компания майкрософт приняла нелёгкое решение отказаться от гаджета погоды и ещё от нескольких. Но у меня-то всё работало! Поэтому тогда не занимался этим вопросом, пока, как говорится, жареный петух не посодействовал…
P.S.: В любом случае большое спасибо всем отписавшимся! Далее попробую ещё на других компьютерах восстановить работоспособность гаджета, надеюсь, неполадок больше не возникнет.
