Windows Error Simulator is a comedy game made by Dev_Anthony based on the Microsoft Windows operating system. The game is a simulator-parody of Microsoft’s Windows XP and its crashes. This game features recognizable applications such as Paint, Notepad, and Minesweeper. Other applications include Cursor Crafter, Snake, and a custom game called Error Terror.
The first version of this game was made and released the same day. Dev_Anthony was studying for an exam and, during his 30-minute break, decided to remake the nostalgic error-dragging. He released it without the intention of it becoming popular and instead «wanted to share a laugh with others who also found this funny and nostalgic.» The next morning, Windows Error Simulator was at the #3 spot in Top-Rated. The game remained in Top-Rated for approximately one straight month before dropping off the list. Since then it has made it back to Top-Rated only a few more times. Windows Error Simulator achieved over 1,000,000 visits within 3 months of its release.

As the player joins the game, they will be greeted with a login screen with their username on the list. If the player clicks on their username, they will be sent to the desktop screen. After the startup sound, they will be interrupted by an error message. They can drag the error message, only to duplicate it however.
