Rdp windows mobile 6

Since I was searching for the RDP client on windows mobile 6, and couldn’t find it, I started digging.

Surprisingly I found out that the client was removed from the and it has became an optional component for Windows Mobile 6 Editions.

For more info you can read this:

http://www.theunwired.net/?item=confirmed-remote-desktop-isn-t-a-windows-mobile-6-application-by-default-anymore

You should download the installer and install it on your device. You should install the package on your device memory and not on storage card in order for it to function.

You can find it here:

or simply do a search online for WM6RDP .

Hi Everybody,

I’m user of CR96 Touch HD™ v6.5.0.2.2 beta
Looking for working CAB of Remote Desktop Mobile client compatible with my or any other WM6.5 ROM.

I have noticed that for some devices cookers include Remote Desktop client of Microsoft. I hope that one of you can help me out and create a cab with working Remote Desktop Mobile (MS RDP client).

P.S: I tried few, that were avilable on the net, but could not make it to work on WM6.5, only on WM6.1.

Thanks in Advance.

HI, thanks for the Link. I tried it, but it did not work.
I’m still looking for Remote Desktop Mobile client from Microsoft.

I tried to install different cabs with different ROMS like: CR98 and MSD, with DOtNet and without it.

Please, if somebody knows the way to solve RDP issue on WM 6.5 let us know how.

Thanks

I am trying to help a friend out, we have gotten him able to connect via his windows mobile 6.5 phone to his computer via remote desktop. The problem we are running into is that the program that he needs to be able to access does not work at lower resolutions (such as his phone has) and most of the program screen is cut off (it is a VB program) Is there a way to have a «higher» resolution on the screen being sent to the Windows Mobile 6.5 phone and just have him scroll up and down on the screen?

Right now replacing the phone is not an option (it might be 6 months down the line, but for now it is not an option).

Windows Mobile Remote Desktop Clients

Remote desktop clients for Windows Mobile.

If you want to check out clients for a different OS, go back to the

If you’re looking for servers, go to the Remote Desktop
Servers index.

Some Windows Mobile phones come with a Remote Desktop client, but many are deployed
without the RDP client. Fortunately, some smart people over at pdaphonehome were
able to extract the Windows Mobile 6 RDP client into an installer that works on
WM5 and WM6. You can find it on their forums:

Windows Mobile 5/6 Remote Desktop Client

After some googling, it appears that Windows Mobile 6 does indeed include a Remote Desktop client. However, some manufaturers choose not to install this software onto their phones by default. Worse, there’s (seemingly) no way for the end user to install it. For example, I have a T-Mobile Wing with WM6, and I couldn’t find the remote desktop software on the phone. It appears that T-Mobile opted not to install it. Not cool.

So, after yet more googling, I found a .CAB file of an unofficial Remote Desktop client for WM6. I’ve tested it out and it seems to work great…I remote-controlled both a Vista & XP machine on my home network.

To install, download this Windows Mobile 6 Remote Desktop client, unzip it somewhere, and then copy the WM6RDP.cab file to your phone (using ActiveSync in XP, or WM Device Center in Vista). Next, on your phone, simply click the ‘WM6RDP.cab’ file to install it. It will then appear in the ‘Start -> Programs’ menu as ‘WM6 Remote Desktop.’

More information on this download is available here.

Update: A couple updates on this. First, if you’re having trouble getting the keyboard to work with this RDP client, make sure that you installed the WM6RDP.cab file to your device’s main memory and not to the storage card! More info on that here.

Second, some people have asked me if there is a newer version available and—to my knowledge—there is no update available.
