CheckBox
.
Checked
private void checkBox_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { CheckBox checkBox = (CheckBox)sender; // приводим отправителя к элементу типа CheckBox if (checkBox.Checked == true) { MessageBox.Show("Флажок " + checkBox.Text + " теперь отмечен"); } else { MessageBox.Show("Флажок " + checkBox.Text + " теперь не отмечен"); } }
Radiobutton
Checked
значение true
.
private void radioButton_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { // приводим отправителя к элементу типа RadioButton RadioButton radioButton = (RadioButton)sender; if (radioButton.Checked) { MessageBox.Show("Вы выбрали " + radioButton.Text); } }

In Windows Forms, RadioButton control is a Graphical User Interface (GUI) used to select a single option among the group of options. For example, select a gender from the given list, so choose only one option among three options like Male or Female or Others. When we select a radio button any previously selected radio will be automatically deselected from the same group.
In Windows Forms, The radio button is part of the System.Windows.Forms namespace. These are the common key features of the radio button:
Ways to Create a Radio Button In Windows Forms
There are mainly two ways to create a radio button in Windows forms which are mentioned below.
- Drag and drop ( Design-Time)
- Custom Button ( Run-Time)
Drag and drop ( Design-Time)
This is the easiest way to create a radio button in Windows Forms using Visual Studio we just have to open the toolbox and drag and drop the button on the form in the designer and further we can change the appearance of the radio button using the properties. Follow these steps to create a radio button.
Step 1: Now locate the project with the name here we are using the default name which is Form1 and it will open a form in the editor that we can further modify.
In the image, we have two files that are open one Design and there is Form1.cs these two play a major role. We use the Form 1.cs file for the custom logic.
Step 2: Now open a Toolbox go to the view > Toolbox or ctrl + alt + x.
Step 3. Now open the common controls and drag and drop the RadioButton on the form where we want to it be placed.
Step 4. Now open the properties of the button press right-click on the button and it will open the properties solution explorer now we can change the button name to Click here.
Here, we can also add different labels and radio buttons and further change their properties.
Output:
Custom Button (Run Time)
In this method, we are going to modify the Form1.cs file and add custom code modification in C# with the help of the RadioButton class. The following steps show how to create a RadioButton dynamically:
Step 1: Create a radio button using the RadioButton() constructor provided by the RadioButton class.
// Creating radio button
RadioButton r1 = new RadioButton();
Step 2: After creating the RadioButton, set the properties of the RadioButton provided by the RadioButton class.
// Set the AutoSize property
r1.AutoSize = true;
// Add text in RadioButton
r1.Text = «Intern»;
// Set the location of the RadioButton
r1.Location = new Point(286, 40);
// Set Font property
r1.Font = new Font(«Berlin Sans FB», 12);
Step 3: And last add this RadioButton control to the form using Add() method.
// Add this radio button to the form
this.Controls.Add(r1);
Step 4: Now double-click on the button in Design and it will open the Form cs file where code is written in C#. Here the program file is Form 1.cs Now write this code in Form1.cs file
Form1.cs file:
C#
namespace WinFormsApp1 { public partial class Form1 : Form { public Form1() { InitializeComponent(); } private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Creating and setting label Label l = new Label(); l.AutoSize = true; l.Location = new Point(176, 40); l.Text = "Select Post:"; l.Font = new Font("Berlin Sans FB", 12); // Adding this label to the form this.Controls.Add(l); // Creating and setting the // properties of the RadioButton RadioButton r1 = new RadioButton(); r1.AutoSize = true; r1.Text = "Intern"; r1.Location = new Point(286, 40); r1.Font = new Font("Berlin Sans FB", 12); // Adding this label to the form this.Controls.Add(r1); // Creating and setting the // properties of the RadioButton RadioButton r2 = new RadioButton(); r2.AutoSize = true; r2.Text = "Team Leader"; r2.Location = new Point(356, 40); r2.Font = new Font("Berlin Sans FB", 12); // Adding this label to the form this.Controls.Add(r2); // Creating and setting the // properties of the RadioButton RadioButton r3 = new RadioButton(); r3.AutoSize = true; r3.Text = "Software Engineer"; r3.Location = new Point(480, 40); r3.Font = new Font("Berlin Sans FB", 12); // Adding this label to the form this.Controls.Add(r3); } } }
Output:

Introduction
In this article, I am going to explain how to work with Radio Button Control in Windows Forms Applications using Visual Studio 2017. Radio Button allows a Distinct Selection of Several items. In each group of radio buttons, only one can be checked or Selected. Conceptually, this control implements an Exclusive Selection.CheckBoxes allow Multiple selections at once.
RadioButton Control
The RadioButton Provides a User Interface for an Exclusive Selection.RadioButton or option Buttons enable the user to select a single option from a group of choices when Paired with other Radio Buttons. When a user clicks on the Radio Button, it Becomes Checked and all other radio Buttons with the Same group become Unchecked.
Step 1. Start the Project
Let’s get Started, Open Visual Studio 2017—>start new project —->Windows Forms Application and name it RadioButton Control.
Step 2. Drag and Drop Control
By default, the Designer Page will be loaded now Drag and Drop the Radio Button control and Button from the Toolbox into the Form Application in Visual Studio 2017. Change the Text of the Radio Button to Red, Blue, and Green.
Step 3. Coding For Button Click Event
Follow the code given below in the screenshot. When one option is chosen from the group of options of Radio Buttons and then the Button is clicked, the Selected option will be displayed in the Message Box.
Step 4. Compile and Run-Sample output
Compile and Run the code the Following Output will be obtained as given below in the Screenshot.
Step 5. GroupBox Control
You can Add GroupBox Control or Panel control to the Form. In this Control, you can Nest RadioButton Instances. Drag and Drop GroupBox and inside it Drag and Drop Radio Button Control and Button Control. By using the Nesting Strategy, you can have Multiple groups of RadioButtons on a Single Form.
Step 6. Coding
Coding For the Button Click Event.
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string scolor = "";
if (radioButton1.Checked)
{
scolor = radioButton1.Text;
}
if (radioButton2.Checked)
{
scolor = radioButton2.Text;
}
if (radioButton3.Checked)
{
scolor = radioButton3.Text;
}
MessageBox.Show(scolor);
}
private void button2_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Getcolor(radioButton4);
Getcolor(radioButton5);
Getcolor(radioButton6);
}
private void Getcolor(RadioButton rdoButton)
{
if (rdoButton.Checked)
{
MessageBox.Show(rdoButton.Text);
}
}
Step 7. Sample Output
Compile and Run the code. The following Output will be obtained as given below in the Screenshot. When One Option is Chosen from Group of Options of RadioButtons then the Selected Option will be displayed in the Message Box When the Button is Clicked.
Summary
RadioButton is Similar to that Checkbox the only Difference is in RadioButton We can Select only One Option But in the Checkbox We can Select Multiple Options. Thanks For Reading My article.If there is any error or Problem with the Code feel free to comment it below. I will try to solve the problem.
Visual Studio.
Windows Forms App (.NET Framework).
RadioButtonExample
.
Toolbox.
Name
, например,redRadioButton
,blueRadioButton
Text
private void redRadioButton_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (redRadioButton.Checked)
{
MessageBox.Show("Выбран красный цвет");
}
}
private void blueRadioButton_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (blueRadioButton.Checked)
{
MessageBox.Show("Выбран синий цвет");
}
}
RadioButton.Checked
Checked
private void submitButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (redRadioButton.Checked)
{
// Код для обработки выбора "Красный"
}
else if (blueRadioButton.Checked)
{
// Код для обработки выбора "Синий"
}
// и так далее
}

Use the RadioButton control in Windows Forms. Access the Checked property.
RadioButton allows distinct selection of several items. In each group of RadioButtons, only one can be checked or selected. Conceptually, this control implements an exclusive selection. CheckBoxes allow multiple selections at once.
Steps. To begin, you should make a new Windows Forms application in Visual Studio, and then you can add GroupBox (or Panel) controls to it. In these controls, you can nest RadioButton instances.
Tip: By using this nesting strategy, you can have multiple groups of RadioButtons on a single form.
Tip 2: You may want to add the CheckedChanged event handler on your RadioButtons.
Also: You can actually have all the RadioButtons point to the same CheckedChanged event handler using the event window in Visual Studio.
Example RadioButton program: C#
using System;
using System.Windows.Forms;
namespace WindowsFormsApplication11
{
public partial class Form1 : Form
{
public Form1()
{
InitializeComponent();
}
private void
radioButton1_CheckedChanged
(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
// Executed when any radio button is changed.
// … It is wired up to every single radio button.
// Search for first radio button in GroupBox.
string result1 = null;
foreach (Control control in this.groupBox1.Controls)
{
if (control is RadioButton)
{
RadioButton radio = control as RadioButton;
if (radio.Checked)
{
result1 = radio.Text;
}
}
}
// Search second GroupBox.
string result2 = null;
foreach (Control control in this.groupBox2.Controls)
{
if (control is RadioButton)
{
RadioButton radio = control as RadioButton;
if (radio.Checked)
{
result2 = radio.Text;
}
}
}
this.Text = result1 + » « + result2;
}
}
}
Notes, example. We wired up all six RadioButtons to the radioButton1_CheckedChanged event handler. Thus, whenever the user clicks or changes the selection on the form, the above method will be executed.
Info: The radioButton1_CheckedChanged event handler has logic to update the title bar text whenever the user changes the selection of RadioButtons.
And: We loop over each sub-control of groupBox1 and groupBox2. When we encounter a RadioButton, we access Checked and Text.
Finally: We set the title text of the Window to our findings. This is to show the program correctly works.
Groups. In Windows Forms, the RadioButton controls are grouped according to their enclosing control. To create multiple groups of RadioButtons, you would need to add containers such as Panel or GroupBox and then put RadioButtons inside.
RadioButton, CheckBox. So when should you use a RadioButton as opposed to a CheckBox? If only one option can be logically selected, then you should use a RadioButton. If more than one (or zero) options can be selected, you should use the CheckBox.
Note: The example screenshot is only correct if the user can only have one Pet and only have one Home.
Also: For animal lovers or people who are wealthy and own many homes, the dialog would not be sufficient.
Summary. The RadioButton provides a user interface for an exclusive selection. We looked at how to use event handlers on RadioButtons. We also saw how to imperatively search RadioButtons for the checked one.
And: We discussed, conceptually, the use of RadioButtons and also their grouping behavior.
