Героев видео также удивило отсутствие в системном блоке модуля Wi-Fi, долгая загрузка Windows 95 и тот факт, что установочный файл операционной системы занимал 13 дискет.
Windows 95 вышла в августе 1995 года и за первый год разошлась тиражом 40 миллионов копий.

For most of recorded history, humanity has reflected on its own mortality via works of great literature or badass paintings of skulls. Adults today have Teens React, which is far more harrowing. Forget Hamlet’s soliloquies about this mortal coil of ours; forget Hieronymus Bosch’s comic hellscapes; forget Thomas Gray’s Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard. All you need to feel the weight of time stamping determinedly on your foot is a YouTube thumbnail of two teenagers gazing with shock and horror at a computer running Windows 95.
Really, do you even need to watch the video above? Do you need to drag out that slow creeping sense of doom? That’s what being alone in bed is for, surely.
Here’s a brief summary: the teens are amazed at how old and clunky you are the computer is, they boggle at the fact that Windows 95 doesn’t support Wi-Fi, and at one point someone says “bless up” with just the right mix of sincerity and irony to make my head spin. And ultimately, yes, they reconcile themselves to the fact that the past was terrible and we’re all better off now, which is about the opposite of what I feel.

Впечатлений для молодых людей масса: они удивлялись внешнему виду самого компьютера, монитор которого оказался больше системного блока, и операционной системе, похожей, по их словам, на современную версию ОС.
Участникам эксперимента поясняли некоторые особенности работы компьютеров того времени, для кого-то даже слово «модем» оказалось неизвестным: «А что такое «модем»?». Да и факт того, что в давние времена не было вездесущего Wi-Fi, некоторых попросту испугал.

The Fine Bros. have released a fun new “Teens React” video that features young teens attempting to use an old Dell computer with Windows 95. This video reminds me that we were basically living in the Stone Age of technology not too long ago. Technology has come such a long way. It will be interesting to see where it all is 20 years from now. Will we be looking at at the computers we work on today and think, “I can’t believe we used such primitive devices,” and be asking ourselves, “How did we even function!?” It’s pretty incredible to see how far we’ve come so fast, and it’s fun to watch these teens trying to figure out how to use the computer tech that a lot of us grew up with.
