Hello guys! FYI, this error happens after I used Windows Repair Software.
My Genuine OS Windows 10 Home Single Language Version 1803 has File system error (-2144926975) when I click these buttons in Start Menu:
Documents
Downloads
Pictures
Music
Videos
*Except: File Explorer button is functioning fine in Start Menu. Other buttons are working fine too.
This error happens ONLY in Start Menu options. I open those Folders (Documents, Downloads, Pictures, Music, Videos) in Windows Explorer, everything is fine, I can access the folders and all the files inside it.
I did all kind of these commands but nothing works:
CHKDSK
SFC
DISM
I also add a New User Account, but it still has a same error in New User Account.
What should I do? Should I reset my Windows 10? Please help…
Is there any script (regedit) to repair this error?
Thanks.

This problem may have arisen because you are using an old version of the program.
The later versions have come about because of needing to update to mainly keep up with the changes to Permissions as Win 10 has been updated.
I would suggest that you try your restore points back to before you ran the repair program to see if that resolves.
What was the reason you ran the repair program ?
I always create a Macrium system image before test running the program should it have adverse effects on my system.

Thanks Boggin for your advise. Unfortunately I did turn my System Restore off on my Windows 10. I don’t create system image too.
I ran the repair program because I couldn’t start Nox Player Android Emulator on my Windows 10. I thought my system had some errors so I ran the repair program.
So… Should I run the new version of repair program for better result?

I’d advise you to turn your System Protection on as you never know when you may need it and you should start creating system images as a further safeguard.
The later versions of the program auto create registry back ups prior to running the repairs but in your pic you didn’t have that box checked, so it may not have created a registry back up for you to revert with.
The repair program creates an error on my system but I’ve found that running the repair program a second time resolved that error, so running the program again with the latest version may also resolve yours but create a manual restore point before running the program.
The program also has the option of creating a restore point but in a number of cases, while it says it has created one, it hasn’t physically created it — so do that yourself.

Wow, I rUN the newest version of this repair windows, voila my error is GONE now. everything works normal. Thanks. Wonderfull app. Even my Windows 10 goes faster and smoother than before. Btw, I don’t like to turn System Protection on because it will slow my system. Boggan, thanks a lot mate.

I’ve never heard of system protection impacting on performance before.
What evidence to you have to support that claim ?
Windows only creates one when the machine is idle or sometimes after a non feature update.
Anyway, glad running the latest version resolved your problem.
Logged
Never mind, maybe next time I will turn it on before I install new apps or make significant change to my system. I think that System Protection is always monitoring Explorer.exe and TrustedInstaller.exe, so I guess that I was wrong. But System Protection creates a big file in Drive C, right? My SSD’s storage is small, so I turn it off.
Logged
You can set it to how much it uses, but if you are going to leave it off, then start creating system images onto an external HDD.
They’ve pulled me out of the mire on a few occasions.

Yeah, thanks. I will create System Image after I buy new external HDD.

Windows 11 BSODs Automatic Repair and advanced troubleshooting options failed
I have had no issues with my PC for the 2 months I owned it so far until yesterday when I froze in a game and crashed with Stop Code: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED. After it automatically restarted I got a BSOD with Stop Code: REGISTRY ERROR. This BSOD restarted a couple times before sending me to automatic repair.
I tried to use every method in the troubleshooting menus other than a clean reinstall and none of them worked, which prevented me from even getting to the log in screen. I have important files on the hard drive that I have not backed up yet. How can I get my PC to boot back to normal again???
Here is what I have tried so far, and the errors each one gave:
- Power Cycle; power on without peripherals; remove motherboard CMOS battery and put it back in
- Restarts with one REGISTRY ERROR BSOD and returns to Automatic Repair.
- Continue: Exit and continue to Windows 11
- Restarts with one REGISTRY ERROR BSOD and returns to Automatic Repair.
- Startup Repair
- «Startup Repair couldn’t repair your PC or «Shut Down» to turn off your PC. Log file: :\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt»
- Uninstall latest quality update
- «If you’re running into problems since installing the latest quality update, uninstalling might fix them. This won’t affect your personal files, apps, or settings.»
- Uninstall latest feature update
- «We ran into a problem and won’t be able to uninstall the latest feature updates of Windows. Try resetting your PC instead (Troubleshoot > Reset this PC)»
- Reset this PC (Keep my files option)
- «There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.»
- Startup Settings (and restart)
- Restarts with one REGISTRY ERROR BSOD and returns to Automatic Repair, no access to Safe Mode
- Command Prompt
- I used the sfc/scannow command and got the message «Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.»
- System Restore
- «System Restore did not complete successfully, your computer’s system files and settings were not changed.»
- «Details: An unspecified eror occurred during System Restore (0x80071a91)»
- Restarts with one REGISTRY ERROR BSOD and returns to Automatic Repair when I click Close
I would really need this computer back to normal since I only had it for such a short time and I have important files on it. Thank you in advance.

Windows 11 File system error -2144926975 after failed self repair after BSOD caused by…
BSOD Hardware Caused???
they do weird things like that, which all seem like something else is failing.
One of the worst things to diagnose, they seem to only quit when they want to.Memtest is a good next step, if you rule out RAM and Power Supply make sure you disconnect all unnecessary peripherals and try to start the system with as little hardware as possible, if it works then, you can narrow down the culprit by trial and error.
the follow was taken from some website:
It’s very difficult to determine if a failure is caused by the CPU because many other components can cause the same symptom when they fail.
1. System fails to boot
2. System re-boots intermittently
3. General Protection Fault
4. Illegal Operation
5. Stop Error, or BSoD (Blue Screen OfDeath)Actually, CPUs rarely fail, and about the only way to determine if the CPU is causing the failure is to swap it out with a known working CPU of the same type and speed. Since this is difficult, the best bet is to first rule out every other possibility.
Before suspecting the CPU, rule out all the possibilities listed below.
1. The Operating System
2. A peripheral port device
3. A bad memory module
4. The hard disk drive
5. The power supply
6. The motherboardIf you have ruled out out all the other possibilities, investigate the items listed below.
1. Overheating
2. A short circuit
3. ESD

Issue: Hi. Whenever I attempt to open some apps or features in Windows, I receive a File System error (-2144926975). This seriously hinders my daily tasks and I am not sure where to even start. Any advice would be welcomed.
Solved Answer
Windows users occasionally encounter error messages and performance hitches as they navigate through the functionalities of their systems.
- Закрытый доступ к папке WindowsApp;
Windows 10.
- нажмите Win+X;
- выберите пункт «Параметры»;
- перейдите в «Обновление и безопасность»→Центр обновления Windows»;
- кликните на кнопку «Проверка наличия обновлений»;
- нажмите Win+X;
- выберите пункт «Командная строка (администратор)»;
- пропишите команду chkdsk /r /f и нажмите Enter;
- нажмите кнопку «Y», чтобы согласиться на перезагрузку компьютера;
- еще раз откройте Командную строку;
- вставьте команду sfc /scannow и нажмите Enter;
- нажмите Win+S для вызова поисковой строки;
- пропишите «Управление BitLocker» и выберите найденный результат;
- кликните на опцию «Отключить BitLocker» возле соответствующего тома;
- следуйте инструкциям на экране (возможно, вам придется ввести пароль);
- откройте ваш системный диск при помощи Проводника;
- перейдите во вкладку «Вид» в строке меню окошка;
- поставьте галочку возле опции «Скрытые элементы»;
- пройдите в директорию C:/Program Files/WindowsApps;
- нажмите на кнопку «Продолжить» в диалоговом окошке;
- в следующем окне кликните на ссылку для перехода во вкладку «Безопасность»;
- в окошке свойств WindowsApp нажмите на кнопку «Дополнительно»;
- нажмите на кнопку «Изменить»;
- пропишите почту свой учетки и нажмите на кнопку «Проверить имена»;
- подобрав нужную учетку, нажмите «OK»;
- теперь поставьте галочку возле опции «Заменить владельца подконтейнеров и объектов»;
Windows 10
- нажмите Win+R;
- пропишите значение powershell и нажмите Ctrl+Shift+Enter;
- Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register «$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml»}
Powershell.
