Synology Note Station Client connects you with Note Station on your Synology NAS. You can manage all the notes/to-do list offline, right from your local computer.
Note Station helps you fully enjoy writing, viewing, managing, and sharing content-rich notes. It is very easy to create content with rich text editing, media embedding, attachments, and much more. Manage your notes by using tags and organizing notes into Notebooks. A version history of all your notes is automatically saved, making it very convenient to view and restore past versions.

Functionality
Note Station is a note-taking and to-do list application that synchronizes your notes between your system. The NAS operates as the central hub for storage and synchronization plus a web-based client. You can use a dedicated app on your computer and mobile devices. When working offline, your notes are synchronized when you reconnect.
Installation
Go to Package Center and select the Note Station package to install the server. Click on the Install button and choose a volume if multiple volumes exist on your NAS. After installation, you find an application in the main menu of the DSM desktop. This is the web client.
To install a Windows/macOS/Ubuntu client, go to the Synology Download Center web page, select your NAS model, open the Desktop Utilities tab, and browse to Synology Note Station Client. Click the download button and choose your operating system.
When the download is ready, double-click on the file and follow the instructions on the screen. The process is very straightforward, with little to no options.
Configuration server
There are three areas of configuration concerning Note Station (server) on the NAS: application privileges, login portal, and Hyper Backup.
Except for administrators, users do not have access to Note Station by default. You can enable access via Control Panel > Application Privileges > select Note Station > Edit.
You can either make it default permission or assign it on a user or group level.
Users can either use a dedicated application or a web-based client. The user can access the web client from its DSM desktop or log in directly to the web application. For the latter option, configure an alias or port number. The result is http://ip_address_nas/note, where note is the alias, or http://ip_address_nas:9350, where 9350 is the port number.
Enable these options from Control Panel > Login Portal > Applications tab > select Note Station > Edit.
Hyper Backup can backup application data. If you already use Hyper Backup, open the application, select a data task and edit it. On the Application tab, check Note Station and confirm the change.
Configuration client
All clients have the same login options to connect to the server component of Note Station: IP address or QuickConnect name, the user name, and password, and finally, whether you like to connect over HTTPS (checkbox).
Note that HTTPS Note Station uses the System default certificate of the NAS.

Stop and run
From Package Center, select the Note Station package. The property page of the application opens. Select Stop from the drop-down list to stop the service, or click Run to start it again.
Uninstall and removal
Before you uninstall Note Station, make sure that it is not included in any backup task of Hyper Backup. Remove Note Station from that task to prevent errors during backup.
From Package Center, select the Note Station package. The property page of the application opens. Select Uninstall from the drop-down list to remove the service.
You receive a warning that you can uninstall all notes, notebooks, and other data. Check the box if you want to remove all data that users have stored with Note Station. Otherwise, leave it unchecked, and you will find it when you install Note Station again.
