NETworkManager — утилита с открытым исходным кодом, которая позволяет управлять сетями и устранять различные сетевые проблемы.
Приложение включает в себя разнообразные инструменты, с помощью которых можно эффективно управлять сетевыми соединениями в Windows. Кроме этого приложение предоставляет массу полезной информации, как например IP-адрес, DNS-сервер и т.д. Подключенные сетевые карты можно настроить с помощью профилей.

A powerful open source tool for managing networks and troubleshooting network problems!

Code Signing Policy
NETworkManager uses free code signing provided by SignPath.io and a free code signing certificate
from SignPath Foundation.
The binaries and installer are built on AppVeyor directly from the GitHub repository.
Build artifacts are automatically sent to SignPath.io via webhook, where they are signed after manual approval by the maintainer.
The signed binaries are then uploaded to the GitHub releases page.
Privacy Policy
This program will not transfer any information to other networked systems unless specifically requested by the user or the person installing or operating it.
NETworkManager has integrated the following services for additional functions, which can be enabled or disabled at the first start (in the welcome dialog) or at any time in the settings:
- api.github.com (Check for program updates)
- ipify.org (Retrieve the public IP address used by the client)
- ip-api.com (Retrieve network information such as geo location, ISP, DNS resolver used, etc. used by the client)

In this way it is possible to reduce problems. Currently there are many programs available. However, today we will talk about Network Manager, the app for monitoring the network in Windows 10.
Network Manager, a tool for managing connections in Windows 10
The first thing you need to know is that this is a free tool. However, it is very complete and intuitive. It is an open source app that allows you to monitor your network adapters in a simple way. In addition, it allows making other configurations. It also offers detailed information about each network interface. For example, IPv4 protocol, IPv6, MAC address, etc. In this way, specific connection data is obtained. And consequently, use it to determine settings.
It also allows you to configure the parameters of various network interfaces. Indeed, you can include IP addresses, DNS and different metrics to organize everything in an optimal way. But the most attractive thing is to manage Windows networks in a simple way.
How to use Network Manager
We have already mentioned that this is a multi-platform, free, open source program. Also, as an attraction no installation is needed. In fact, you just need to download the latest version from here and start it. After downloading the file, simply unzip it and run the executable file. You will immediately see a small window with some basic data. For example, the IP address of the network card we are using, as well as the public IP address. Also, the download and upload speed is shown, with a small graph.
Clicking on the configuration icon opens the Control Panel. There is more complete information about the connection. Since it provides data regarding the MAC address of the network card, IP address, the adapter, etc.
By entering the interface configuration, profiles can be created. Indeed, it is possible to create one with the OpenDNS DNS or any of your preference. There are also practical functions such as subtracting TCP/IP values.
Other interesting features in Network Manager
It is possible to configure the behavior in the tools section. For example, set it to be launched at system startup or always visible. You can also set the time span of the graph. It is also possible to configure the auto update. In short, Network Manager is a great option for monitoring the Windows 10 network connection. 3 октября 2024 года состоялся релиз интерфейса для упрощения настройки параметров сети NetworkManager 1.50. В этой версии проекта добавлена поддержка настройки интерфейсов veth в инструменте nmtui и поддержка повторного применения VLAN на портах мостов. Выпуск предыдущей стабильной версии NetworkManager 1.48 состоялся в конце мая этого года.
Основные изменения и доработки в NetworkManager 1.50:
• объявлена устаревшей и отключена на этапе сборки поддержка утилиты dhclient, вместо которой рекомендуется использовать встроенный DHCP-клиент, применяемый по умолчанию, начиная с NetworkManager 1.20 (или NetworkManager 1.12 при сборке с Meson);
• реализована возможность поиска и указания системных сетевых интерфейсов OVS (Open vSwitch) по их MAC-адресу;
• добавлена поддержка настройки таймаута проверки соединения;
• в утилиту nmtui добавлена поддержка настройки сетевых интерфейсов виртуальных Ethernet-устройств (veth);
• обеспечен учёт содержимого /etc/hosts при определении имени хоста из обратной зоны в DNS;
• в параметре конфигурации ip6-privacy возвращено использование sysctl ipv6.conf.default для изменения настроек в ядре;
• добавлена поддержка использования в ndisc нескольких шлюзов для одной сети;
• для беспроводных конфигураций в режиме точки доступа добавлена поддержка настройки ширины беспроводного канала (channel-width);
• добавлен код для блокирования записи в keyfile устаревших настроек с неполиткорректными терминами master, slave и blacklist;
• устранена ошибка, приводившая к аварийному завершению при обработке специально оформленных пакетов LLDP при включённом отладочном режиме.
Проект NetworkManager 1.50 доступен для загрузки в виде исходников в tarball и требует ручной компиляции. В скором времени новый релиз NetworkManager появится в стабильных репозиториях программного обеспечения различных дистрибутивов Linux.
