when i try to open netplwiz , it doesnt give me an option to say yes all it says is no as an option. i was trying to put myself back as an admin and do the group thing but when i try to change it back i cant anymore so i dont know what do do but now it wont let me do anything and the local users are gone now and i dont know how reenable everything the way it was. I cant even do a restore point or anything . Does anyone know how to undo all of this? How can i put myself back as an admin? Now it says my microsoft account when i look at my settings I was an admin but when i tried to do a fix and i switched it to something else and now i am just an account instead of an admin , how do i change this ? . Is there an admin account on my pc i can access? Please help

Do I need to sign with an Microsoft account to unlock this?

Nevermind. If netplwiz isn’t working, try:
- Right-click the Windows key and select Run.
- In the Run field, type in control userpasswords2 and hit
Enter. - In the User Accounts dialog box, check the box for Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.
- Click Apply, then OK.
- Restart your computer and see if you’re prompted with the login window.
It’s the same dialog box, but it’s got the checkbox.

It’s strange there is no difference between loading the User Accounts applet one method or the other. I tried the registry fix and I promise you, netplwiz loaded without the checkbox. I didn’t get the checkbox until I tried control userpasswords2. Perhaps using another method to start the same applet forced it to reload its registry values? It might be good to add something like «if it doesn’t work, reboot your system and try again.» as a final step in the registry fix, to catch cases like mine when gremlins keep the fix from working as usual.

What worked for me was
adding these two keys to registry at
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device
DevicePassword value 1
DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion REG_DWORD value 0
rebooted
then after repeating control userpasswords2
still no checkbox, BUT
checking then unchecking the Box «Users must enter a user name and password»
and VOILA the option to add user / password popped
( only allow Windows Hello is disabled ofc)

I can’t edit the post for some reason,
still no checkbox
should read as still no ability to add new login data, then after checking ( users HAVE to enter password) then unchecking it popped up… Hope this helps
