[SOLVED] KB4474419 can’t be installed on Windows 7 64bit

Hello and thank you for all the help you provide to people from all over the wolrd. After «fighting» with my problem for one day I am asking for help. I’d say I’m an advanced PC user, but not when it comes to OS stuff.

The situation is this, I had a double boot setup for a couple of years. After reading that KB4474419 had a problem with double boot I did bootrec /fixmbr and /fixbook and now I am loading straight into Windows without GRUB. When trying to install KB4474419 it says it installed and requires a reboot. When shutting down it goes to 30%, then after startup it goes straight to Startup Repair. Sometimes the repair suceeds automatically and shows the «hal.dll is corrupted» as the root cause found, then launches the system and obviously update is not installed. Sometimes the only way to boot back was by using command line DISM /Remove-Package and uninstalling package KB4474419 ~amd64~~ etc (sorry dont remember how it was written fully), by the way if I remember correctly the status was always Pending, never installed.

Following the instructions I’m attaching the CBS folder with logs. I also ran the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool with «Search Registry» for «KB4474419» and the result log is in the archive too («SearchReg.txt»). Thank you.

Hello and welcome,

Remove Update Manually

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt.
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.
wusa /uninstall /KB:3133977
Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors.

I followed the instructions and that update was successfuly removed, I have restarted my PC and awaiting further instructions.

FRST Registry Search

Click the Start button and choose Control Panel.
In the upper right corner ensure the View by: is set to Category.
Select the Programs group.
Click the Turn Windows features on or off link. This will bring up the Server Manager dialog.
Note: This loads your components hive which is what we want. Please keep this dialog open while you perform the remaining steps. You can minimize it if you wish but keep it open.
Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
Right-click on the file FRST64.exe and choose Run as administrator.
Copy and paste KB3133977 into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
When the scan is complete, a message will display that ‘SearchReg.txt‘ is saved in the same folder FRST was started from. Notepad will open this file also. Close Notepad and attach the file ‘SearchReg.txt’ to your next reply.
You may close any remaining open windows now.

Done, in Step 4 when I clicked Turn Windows features on or off the dialog was called «Windows Features» not «Server Manager», it was a list of features like Games, Media Features etc with most of them checkbox off, anyway here is the result

Step 1:
Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.

Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on FRST64.exe and select «Run as administrator».
Press the Fix button.
The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2:
Restart the computer.
Check Windows Update again and report the result.
If it fails, attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

After those steps once again Windows Update said that KB4474419 was installed successfuly, just needs a restart. When shutting down it configures to 30% then shuts off. After restart I get a black screen that shows to me :
Windows Boot Manager
Windows failed to start. File: hal.dll Status:0xc0000098.
Info: Windows failed to load because a required file is missing, or corrupt.

After system repair (it automatically fixes it and restarts PC), the update is not installed. In «Update History» I can see the failed result with code 800F0816.
I am sending you my Fixlog and cbs.log as a zip.

Make sure you have a backup of all your important data.

Remove Update Manually

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt.
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.
wusa /uninstall /KB:4474419
Let me know if it says it was successful or if there are any errors.

A window appears that says «The update KB4474419 is not installed on this computer».

Download ListChkdskResult.exe by SleepyDude and save it on your desktop.
Rightclick

ListChkdskResult.exe and select Run as administrator. Notepad will open the file ListChkdskResult.txt on completion. (The file ListChkdskResult.txt can be found on your desktop.)
Copy and paste its content in your next reply.

I have to go to sleep now, thank you for helping so far. Cant help but think that the problem might be in some partitions on disk or boot related or something else related to disk because it’s a mess that I dont really understand, but for now I will follow your advice and not «self-medicate».

No problem, we don’t need to hurry. Sleep well.

The following might take several hours to complete. You can do it overnight if you like.

Click on Start — All Programs — Accessories.
Right-click on Command-prompt and select Run as administrator.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press enter afterwards.

At the question «Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)«, press Y.
Restart the system.

not press any key during the restart. This will allow CHKDSK to start.
Wait for this to complete. Please note that this may take several hours. Let it run even if it looks like the process has stopped!
On completion, the system will restart automatically.

Good afternoon, I followed the instructions. Chkdsk was 5 steps and overall it took less than 20 minutes, I don’t know if it’s good or bad. The system automatically restarted, said it was NTFS and the drive is clean or something like that.

20 minutes is much less than expected but if the drive is reported as clean that is fine.

SFC Scan

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each.Wait for this to finish before you continue

Same result sadly, says Update installed but requires a System Restart, after restart hal.dll missing, it fixes itself with Startup Repair and says Root Reason : Unspecified changes to system configuration might have caused this error, then it restarts and I can log in again but obviously with no update.

Следующая версия Kaspersky Safe Kids не может быть установлена на Microsoft Windows 7, если не установлены следующие обновления:

KB4490628 (обновление от 12 марта 2019).
KB4474419 (обновление от 23 сентября 2019).
SP 1 (KB976932), если не установлено.

Ошибка установки появляется в связи с тем, что компания Microsoft обновила алгоритм подписания модулей и драйверов сторонних программ. Теперь модули и драйверы сторонних программ (в том числе «Лаборатории Касперского») подписываются с помощью алгоритма хеширования SHA256. Вам необходимо установить обновления KB4490628 и KB4474419, чтобы модули и драйверы Kaspersky Internet Security могли быть подписаны с помощью алгоритма хеширования SHA256.

Вы можете установить обновления следующими способами.

Установка обновления через Центр обновления Windows

Если на вашем компьютере отключена автоматическая установка обновлений, выполните следующие действия:

В меню Пуск выберите пункт Панель управления → Система и безопасность → Центр обновления Windows.
Откроется окно Центр обновления Windows.
В окне Центр обновления Windows в меню слева выберите пункт Настройка параметров.

После установки пиратского ПО (google sketch up) нанятым «помощником» сначала скорость интернета просела до двух мегабит в секунду на пару дней. Сканирование компа kaspersky internet security угроз не обнаружило.

Через еще пару дней нечто заблокировало браузер и возможность скачивания. Интернет был, но страницы гугл хлома не загружались. Клик по диагностике сети выдавал «удаленное устройство или ресурс не принимает подключение». При этом десктопный востап обновлялся. Но посланную через него антивир утилиту скачать не удавалось.
Следом поступил звонок с номера «из Молдовы», который я брать не стала. и поняла, что видимо щас «сотрудники фсб» будут взламывать мои госуслуги. Похоже, что это было нечто, что скачало с компа все данные и логины пароли.
Нанятый лечитель вирусов с youdo удаленно помог снять странные установленные каким-то патчем ограничения с браузера и почистил шесть каких-то вирусов разными утилитами.

В финале я в безопасном режиме еще раз проверила утилитой cureit др веба. И он нашел один какой-то файл и удалил.

4 дня всё поработало бесперебойно. Сегодня снова появился симптом про браузер. То есть нечто управляющее браузером все еще сидит на компе. Пирасткое ПО правда так и осталось не снесённым. Но есть ощущение что снос ПО не поможет и надо что-то хитрее предпринять.

Да, впн стоял и исправно без странных симптомов работал более полутора лет без обновлений. Приложения hiddify, сервер от papervpn.

Я очень неопытный женщина-юзер. Помогите, пожалуйста, понять что можно сделать.
