Want to play Roblox on your Windows 7? Many users trying to do so get a version error reading Your Windows 7 system is too outdated when attempting to run the game on the legacy operating system.
This is because, as of January 2025, Roblox officially dropped support for Windows 7. Here’s how to make it work.
How to play ROBLOX on Windows 7
1. Make sure you meet system requirements
Here’s a quick look at the Roblox system requirements:
- CPU: 1.6 GHz or higher (recent processors recommended)
- RAM: 1 GB
- Video Card: DirectX 9 and Shader Model 2.0; dedicated video card recommended for best performance
- Pixel & Vertex Shader: 2.0
- Free Disk Space: 20 MB
To check if you meet them on your Windows 7:
- Press the Windows key + Pause/Br to open System Information.
- Check your processor’s model and speed.
- Now, check the Installed memory (RAM).
- Go to the Desktop, right-click on it, select Screen resolution, and click Advanced settings.
- Check the Adapter tab to check your video card.
- Go to Start> Computer and check the space on the drive you want to install Roblox on and make sure it’s more than 20 MB.
If your system meets these requirements, your PC might be able to run Roblox, despite the official support drop. As for now, some users are still able to open the app hitch free on their Windows 7 PCs.
2. Install KB4534310 update
- Visit the Microsoft Update Catalog.
- Download the update suitable for your system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit).
- Install it by following the on-screen instructions.
- Restart your PC.
This Windows 7 update is essential if you want Roblox to run on your Windows 7. It includes crucial security and compatibility fixes for your OS.
3. Update to Service Pack 1
- Go to the Microsoft support page and pick the download link for your build.
- Select your language and hit the download button.
- Open the installer and follow the on-screen prompts to finish up the update.
- Restart your PC.
4. Download DirectX
- Go to the DirectX download page.
- Select your language and click the Download button.
- Open the installer file and follow the on-screen prompts to finish up.
5. Install Roblox
- If you deleted the app or haven’t installed it already, open your Windows 7-supported browser.
- Go to https://www.roblox.com/login and log into your account.
- Pick a game and hit the Play button.
- You’ll be prompted to open Roblox. You’ll get a download link if the app isn’t yet on your PC. Click it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the install.
- Once it’s done, your game should automatically launch.
That’s it. Following the steps above you should be able to run Roblox on your Windows 7 PC. If you already had the app on your PC but it stopped running, only follow steps 2,3 and 4 and restart your PC.
Before the cutoff, the following message would occasionally show up when starting the game:
Starting 01/14/25 Roblox will no longer support Windows 7 or 8.1. Please upgrade your device to Windows 10 or higher to continue playing.
Since January 15, some people were no longer able to play, but the tweaks above helped some.
Bringing it up to date should make it function However, keep in mind that the app may not open if your hardware is very outdated and can’t support the latest Windows 7 updates or doesn’t have sufficient memory.

Ну, от этого можно попробовать и плясать, Windows 7 устанавливаем с Windows 10 в режиме совместимости. Как вариант, применять который нужно только, если вы хорошенько так в теме, вручную скачать вот эти пакеты обновлений Виндоус:
Первые 3 пакета скачиваем и устанавливаем по очереди, используя такую опцию Виндоус (смотри ниже):
В последнем пакете перед установкой нужно будет сменить расширение после точки, у вас будет msu, а нужно будет cab. Далее, щелкните дважды мышкой и в открывшемся архиве найдите такое:
На С диске нужно будет вверху папку создать, латиницей пишите, чтобы она к самому верху поднялась, в нее и нужно будет архив этот перетащить. Далее, cmd вводите в коммандной (зайдите как администратор) строке. Ищите вот эту команду:
Как администратор запустите и введите потом в строке появившейся такое:
Когда все распакуется, ПК нужно будет перезагрузить.

Why can’t I play Roblox on Windows 7?
You can’t play Roblox on Windows 7 because you’re using an outdated Windows 7 system.
For Roblox to launch and function properly, you need to download KB4534310.
KB4534310 is a required security monthly quality rollup for Windows 7.
It’s also required to support the latest Byfron update on Roblox.
To play Roblox on Windows 7, you need to download and run three Microsoft update packages.
After you’ve downloaded and run them, you need to download and run the KB4534310 security monthly quality rollup update package.
Step 1: Download and run three update packages
- Download and run Windows6.1-kb4490628-x64.msu.
- Download and run Windows6.1-kb4474419-v3-x64.msu.
- Download and run windows6.1-kb4536952-x64_87f81056110003107fa0e0ec35a3b600ef300a14.msu.
Note: You need to restart your computer after each download if needed.
Note #2: If an update is not applicable to your computer, you need to search for each update (e.g. kb4490628) on Google and download the x86-based system instead of x64.
Step 2: Download and run KB4534310
- Download and run windows6.1-kb4534310-x64_4dc78a6eeb14e2eac1ede7381f4a93658c8e2cdc.msu.
Note #1: You need to restart your computer after the download if needed.
Note #2: If the update is not applicable to your computer, download the x86-based system from https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4534310 instead.
Step 3: Open Roblox and launch an experience
- Open Roblox and log in to your account.
- Launch a Roblox experience.
