Monster Hunter Rise was actually planned to be a timed Nintendo Switch exclusive. We had no chance that the game would come on PC, leave about consoles. But thanks to Capcom, we can now have the full-fledged experience of this amazing, staggering and sensational masterpiece on our PCs.
The game has only been released for the Nintendo Switch users, and as per reports, it is something you should play at least once. Rise is the sixth straight marine entry to the Monster Hunter Series but is the second best-selling game to date.
It has all the required elements which make a game the best in the genre. The Nintendo players have given the game a thumbs up, which means it surely has the potential!
Capcom has tried to make Rise a different one which will give the players a completely unique gaming experience. For the delay in the launch of the PC version, the devs tell that they have an aim to make this game “an elite experience for the PC users by introducing new updates and changes”. Now we have to wait till the 12th of January 2022 to check out how elite the experience is.
Just like the previous versions, you have to take up the role of a hunter in Monster Hunter Rise. Your main objective will be to kill or capture several deadly monsters by using a variety of weapons and tools given to you. You can also use the environmental factors to weaken the monsters for your benefit! Rise has got a lot of new features and improvements in the mechanics as compared to the previous ones. While the story is a continuation of what we saw in World, the demo version will give a better idea about what it is all about.
You will get a new dog-like companion in the game called the Palamutes. These can prove to be handy for faster exploration of the map, for fighting off monsters and many more. The Palamutes can scale higher cliffs with more precision and speed. As an addition, the old cat-like companions Palicoes will return as well.
Monster Hunter Rise PC Features
- Content: All main content released up to November for MHR on Nintendo launches on PC right away
- Resolutions: In addition to regular resolutions up to 4k, the game also supports Ultrawide (21:9 aspect ratio)
- Framerate: The game offers uncapped framerates, and players can self-cap based on their preference
- Texture Upgrades: Monster Hunter Rise on PC features higher resolution textures
- Controls: Full Keyboard + Mouse and controller support (for Xbox or PlayStation controllers)
Many players have reported that they are not able to run the demo on their Windows 7 rig. This has become one of the most commonly reported issues. The simple reason is that the game Monster Hunter Rise says that the minimum requirement for the game to run is Windows 10. This is the main reason why you will not be able to play the game on rigs lower than Windows 10.
Well, there is an option. You can try changing your PC OS from DX12 to Vulkan API. This has reportedly worked for many. But the issue is that you won’t be able to load quite a lot of textures in the game. If you are okay with it, try shifting to Vulkan. And follow Digi Statement for more updates like these!

In addition to placing dxgi.dll and d3d11.dll of DXVK, you also need to place d3d12.dll of VKD3D-Proton to enable DX12 mode.
除了放置DXVK的dxgi.dll和d3d11.dll,還需要放置VKD3D-Proton的d3d12.dll才能開啟DX12模式。

You can place <dxvk.conf> with <MonsterHunterRiseDemo.exe> to Enable DXVK’s Async option.
Note:
Win7 does not simulate Vulkan, Win7 itself directly supports Vulkan.[Missing textures and corrupted models] is the problem of MHR’s DX11 mode itself. The team that transplanted MHR did not handle the DX11 part well. Even if you use Win10/11 and set the compatibility option to Win7/8/8.1, you will enter the game with DX11 mode. Had the same problem with DX11 mode on Win7/8/8.1. Don’t always blame the problem on Win7. Crackcom’s console game development team can handle both DX11 mode and DX12 mode. Crackcom’s portable game development team has not dealt with DX11 mode, and even DX12 mode can’t be handled well, so there are so many flaws. So obviously the problem with the portable game development team is not a Vulkan problem nor a Win7 problem.

The Master Rank expansion to Monster Hunter Rise, Sunbreak, has finally released on June 30. However, Hunters are having trouble getting through the splash screen and often see their game crash before even getting a glimpse of the Elgado Outpost. If you can’t get past the splash screen when running Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, here are some proven methods that should help you fix the startup crashes.
1. Remove REFramework, Mods, and ReShade
The main culprit of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak crashing on startup seems to be REFrameworks. REFrameworks is the script/framework you need to download to use mods in Monster Hunter Rise. Unfortunately, for now, REFramework is not yet compatible with the Sunbreak expansion update.
Try removing or renaming the REFrameworks dinput8.dll file from the game’s directory. Then to make sure, also remove any associated files and uninstall any mods (including ReShade) you have downloaded, either manually or from Vortex or Fluffy Manager. Usually, modders work fast, so don’t forget to check the mod page to see whether or not it can be used with the current version of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak again in the near future. Nevertheless, for this reason alone, personally, I always wait until Capcom stops updating their games to download mods because they will mess with the game.
2. Set Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak to Windows 7 Compatibility Mode
Reddit user Beddict mentions running the game with Windows 7 Compatibility Mode if you’re using AMD Radeon R9 200 series GPU. To do that, simply:
- Go to your Monster Hunter Rise installation folder.
- Right-click on MONSTER HUNTER RISE on your Steam Library.
- Choose Manage.
- Pick Browse local files.
- Right-click on the MonsterHunterRise.exe.
- Pick Properties.
- Go to the Compatibility tab.
- Click on the “Run this program in compatibility mode.”
- Then choose Windows 7.
3. Run the Game in Administrator Mode
Another Reddit user, Vallanga1138, wrote that their Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak crashing on startup is fixed by running the game as an administrator. Do the same step as the above, but click on the “Run this program as an administrator” instead when in the Compatibility tab.
4. Update Your Driver
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? Well, sometimes, with new games, GPU vendor also optimize their hardware performance through driver updates. With that in mind, you might want to download the latest GPU driver once in a while if you’re having trouble like Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak crashing on startup.
For example, the 516 driver for Nvidia GPUs has compatibility revisions for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. You can install it by downloading it through the GeForce Experience app or the Nvidia site. AMD users would want to download their drivers from AMD.com.
5. Remove xinput1_3.dll and Verify Integrity
If for some reason, other methods still don’t work for you, Reddit user Laury_U suggests trying to look for a xinput1_3.dll in your Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak installation folder. Then delete the file, and verify the game’s integrity on Steam:
- Go to the Library.
- Select MONSTER HUNTER RISE.
- Click the gear icon (Manage menu) on the right-hand side of your screen. Or right-click MONSTER HUNTER RISE from your games list.
- Pick Local Files.
- Choose Verify integrity of game files… menu.
6. Reboot Your System
Last but not least, try rebooting your system. Always do a quick restart after you (re)install or uninstall something. Sometimes a simple refresh is all you need for your PC to remove any temporary files and recognize changes you’ve made on the machine.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is available on PC and Nintendo Switch.

I USE DXVK AND VKD3D-PROTON, BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN THEY’RE BOTH AMI.
You can try, if you’re lucky, you can play MHR.
You can activate it by placing<dxvk.conf>in the game
In addition to hosting dxg October.dll and d3d11.dxvk dll, you also need to place d3d12.DLL Proton to enable VKD12D-DX3D mode.
dxgi dxvk.He signed a contract with the Major League and entered the active squad with a score of 3-11.dll, the required VKD3D-Proton D3D12.12/12 will be released.

Add [TargetPlatform= Directx12] to the configuration.log

My solution is a delta patch.Use deltapatcher to apply a patch to your game.
You are using the October DeltaPatcher patch.
If you are unable to start the game, try adding the [-force-d3d11] option to Steam.
If you can’t launch the game, try adding a link to Steam [Force d3d11], you must activate the game via Steam.
You can place<dxvk.conf>and<MonsterHunterRiseDemo.exe> to enable asynchronous settings for DXVK.
Note:
Win7 does not mimic vulkan, and Win7 itself directly supports vulkan.[Missing texture and distorted model] is a problem with the DX11 mode itself in mhr. The Mhr team did poorly in the DX11 division. Even if I use Win10 / 11 and set the compatibility option on Win7 / 8 / 8.1, I still enter the game in DX11 mode. I had the same PROBLEM with WIN11 in DX7 / 8 / 8.1 MODE. Don’t always blame Win7 problems. The Crackcom console game development team can handle both DX11 and DX12 modes. Crackcom’s portable game development team is not interested in DX11 mode and has so many flaws that even DX12 mode can’t handle it. Obviously, the problem with the portable game development team is neither a Vulkan problem nor a Win7 problem
As one of the most anticipated video games in early 2022, Monster Hunter Rise is finally here. The game is amazing. However, there are sporadic reports about Monster Hunter Rise not launching or black screen on startup. If you happen to be on the same boat, don’t worry. Here is a full list of fixes to help you solve the bugs and regain a smooth gaming experience.
Try these fixes:
Try these 5 simple fixes to troubleshoot the Monster Hunter Rise not launching issue. You don’t have to try them all. Just work your way down the list until you find the one that does the trick.
- Run the game as an administrator
- Allow your game through Controlled Folder Access and antivirus
- Update your graphics driver
- Disable resource-hogging programs
- Verify the integrity of game files
Fix 1 – Run the game as an administrator
Your game may not launch when it can’t access the necessary permission. So, to make sure it works without interruption, you should run Monster Hunter Rise as an administrator.
- Go to the game’s installation folder, which is usually located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common.
- Locate the MonsterHunterRise.exe file and select Properties.
- Select the Compatibility tab. Tick Run this program as an administrator and click OK.
Directly launch the exe file to see how it works. If it still doesn’t start properly, try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 8. This is a simple workaround for many players.
Still no luck? Move on to the next method below.
Fix 2 – Allow your game through Controlled Folder Access and antivirus
It’s also possible that Windows Security and other antivirus have prevented Monter Hunter Rise from running, and therefore the game fails to launch. To tweak the settings, follow the steps below:
- On the Windows search box, type windows security and select Windows Security from the results.
- Select Virus & threat protection from the left pane. Scroll to the Ransomware protection section and click Manage ransomware protection.
- Toggle on the Controlled folder access, and click Allow an app through Controlled folder access.
- Click Add an allowed app > Browse all apps.
- Navigate to the game’s installation folder and add the MonsterHunterRise.exe file.
If you have also installed any third-party anti-virus software like McAfee, Bitdefender and Avast, make sure your game is added to their whitelists and not blocked.
Fix 3 – Update your graphics driver
One of the most common causes of game bugs or not launching is a faulty or outdated graphics driver. A driver update can tackle compatibility issues of new games like Monster Hunter Rise and offer a zero-cost performance boost. So before you try anything more complicated, check if your graphics driver is up-to-date.
You can update the GPU driver manually by visiting the manufacturer’s website (AMD or NVIDIA) and downloading the latest driver corresponding with your system. But if you don’t have the time or patience to update drivers manually, you can, instead, do it automatically with Driver Easy.
- Download and install Driver Easy.
- Run Driver Easy and click Scan Now. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.
- Click the Update button next to a flagged graphics driver to automatically download the correct version of this driver, then you can manually install it (you can do this with the FREE version).
Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system (this requires the Pro version – you’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All).
Once done, restart the computer for the changes to take effect. Then test if the issue reoccurs. If yes, there are a few more fixes below.
Fix 4 – Disable resource-hogging programs
If too many resource-hogging applications are running in the background, that may interfere with your game and make it crash or not open. It’s better to close these applications while playing Monster Hunter Rise. Here’s how:
- Right-click any empty space on the taskbar and click Task Manager.
- Check your current CPU and memory usage to see what apps are consuming your resources most. Then right-click the process you want to end and select End task.
Check if the game launches as expected. If not, take a look at Fix 5.
Fix 5 – Verify the integrity of game files
To troubleshoot any missing or damaged game files that might cause MHR to malfunction, you could perform an integrity check. Newly-released games keep rolling out patches, and doing this will also check for the game updates.
- Open Steam and go to Library.
- From the game list, right-click Monster Hunter Rise and click Properties.
- Select Local Files from the left pane and click Verify intergrity of game files.
It may take a few minutes to finish scanning and repairing. Then you can restart the game to see if the problem persists.
Hopefully one of the fixes above resolves your Monster Hunter Rise not launching issue. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to drop us a line below.
