Overview 👀

Default Flyout | ModernFlyouts

This application aims to provide a Fluent Design System based replacement for the old, built-in, Metro Design based Audio/Airplane mode/Brightness flyouts in Windows (which haven’t been updated since Windows which are shown while pressing the media or volume keys or even the brightness keys (may be absent on Desktop PCs) or when airplane/flight mode is toggled.

In case of Windows 11, this application will have the same UI but will provide additional features and customizability compared to the built-in redesigned flyouts.

This project has its roots in the app AudioFlyout by ADeltaX.
With additional implementations for «Airplane mode», «Brightness» and «LockKeys» (includes Insert key, Caps, Num & Scroll lock keys) flyouts, this project stands as a complete replacement for the built-in flyouts.

Note : The built-in flyout will not be permanently affected. It will be hidden temporarily while this application is running. So, no reason to fear breaking your system.

Users are provided the freedom to choose between the Windows built-in flyouts or modern flyouts from ModernFlyouts or neither of them.

It is impossible to have a flyout for the keyboard backlight brightness or the function (Fn) key because they are not passed as keys but as hardware signals (which the OEMs decide). Any OS can receive those signals if they have the required driver.

older versions such as v0.3 and below support Windows 10 1803 downlevel till Windows 8, however v0.4 and above won’t.

Installation ⬇️

Modern Flyouts is available for you to install via Microsoft Store, GitHub, winget and Chocolatey.

All the distribution methods mentioned above are supported, however installing the app from the Microsoft Store is recommended as it is easier to install and will automatically remain up to date.

Go to the latest release on the Releases page.
Download the latest *.msixbundle file and the [latest available] .cer file from the assets.
Install the certificate into the Trusted People directory.
Install the downloaded *.msixbundle file and launch the app from the Start Menu.

Всплывающие окна Windows 10 — одна из самых серьёзных проблем пользовательского интерфейса операционной системы Microsoft. Они большие, неуместные и не обновлялись со времён Windows 8. Пока софтверный гигант готовит глобальное обновления интерфейса Windows 10, некоторые сторонние разработчики уже сделали то, что давно должна была сделать Microsoft. Так, например, в Microsoft Store есть приложение под названием ModernFlyouts. Оно заменяет системные всплывающие окна для регулятора громкости и яркости своими вариантами, более современными и полностью настраиваемыми.

Всплывающее окно ModernFlyouts можно расположить в любом месте на экране, выставить продолжительность его появления, прозрачность и другие параметры. У него даже есть тёмная и светлая темы оформления. Таким образом, заменить можно не только всплывающее окно регулятора громкости, но и яркости, состояния буфера обмена, а также режима полёта, индикации включения и отключения «Caps Lock», «Num Lock» и тачпада.

ModernFlyouts создано на базе другого приложения с открытым исходным кодом для изменения системного регулятора громкости AudioFlyout от XDelta-X. Пока это только предварительная версия, поэтому разработчик не гарантирует, что приложение будет работать на все 100%. Иногда оно не успевает подменить собой системный интерфейс, поэтому может не сработать.

Мы уже писали о том, как выглядит версия Sun Valley в раннем представлении Insider Preview на канале Dev-тестировщика, а вот полноценный апдейт начнет распространяться для всех пользователей не ранее осени текущего года.

Будущая версия Windows Sun Valley станет приятнее внешне и немного функциональнее, это не отменяет того факта, что возможности ее штатной кастомизации останутся на текущем скудном уровне, что и у актуальной Windows 10 (21H1). Мы решили немного исправить эту ситуацию и нашли несколько программ, способных улучшить как внешний вид операционки, так и повысить ее функциональность.

TaskbarX — настрой панель задач под себя

Легковесный и безопасный модификатор системного интерфейса, правда, на английском языке. Тем не менее, утилита интуитивно понятна, так что не вызовет проблем в использовании — достаточно минимального понимания английского.

TaskbarX позволяет полностью настроить «Панель задач», включая прозрачность, цвет, анимацию, позиционирование иконок программ и утилит. При этом доступна возможность модификации «Панели задач» на разных, одновременно подключенных мониторах и в зависимости от условий электропитания (от сети или от батареи. В общем, настроек хватает для того, чтобы максимально персонализировать данный элемент системы Windows 10 под себя. Программа портативная, поэтому лучше разархивировать ее в отдельную папку на локальном диске, на котором установлена операционная система.

Modern Flyouts

Будущая Windows Sun Valley наконец-то привнесет закругления в систему, которые исчезли после перехода с Windows 7 на 8-ю и последующие версии. Но если вам уже не терпится, ведь до осени еще достаточно много времени, осовременить Windows 10 можно и сейчас (только всплывающие уведомления).

Утилита частично на русском, частично на английском языке, но проста в настройке. Конечно, это не грядущая Sun Valley, но какое-то улучшение интерфейса данная программа в систему привносит. Затрагивает она следующие модули: панели громкости и яркости, активации режима «В самолете», оповещение о вкл/откл Caps Lock, отображение переключателя Num Lock и режим вставки Insert.

WinDynamicDesktop — автоматическая смена обоев

Для персонализации рабочего стола в Windows 10 существует мощная утилита Wallpaper Engine, позволяющая устанавливать живые обои с их последующей настройкой и возможностью взаимодействия. Однако эта программа неплохо нагружает графический процессор (видеокарту), особенно если выставить хорошее сглаживание и высокий fps. По этой причине эту программу мы рассматривать не будем.

Вместо нее лучше обратить свое внимание на простую и весьма полезную утилиту WinDynamicDesktop, которая как и в macOS Mojave умеет менять обои на светлые или темные в зависимости от времени суток. Программа имеет как предустановленный набор фоновых изображений, так и позволяет пользователю сформировать собственный набор картинок или загружать сторонние темы. Не стоит волноваться, что она запрашивает страну проживания для определения часового пояса, так как установить время рассвета и заката можно вручную.

Rainmeter — мощный пак виджетов, включая macOS

Во времена Windows 7 многие пользовались гаджетами на рабочем столе, но затем в Windows 8 и последующих версиях ОС эту фишку убрали в угоду плиточному дизайну. Конечно, есть возможность вернуть гаджеты в Windows 10, но если и делать это, то только с программой Rainmeter.

Особенность ее в том, что для нее портировали красивейшие виджеты из актуальной операционной системы Apple macOS Big Sur. Утилита весит совсем немного, есть на русском языке, практически не нагружает «железо» и органично вписывается в современные реалии Windows 10.

Скачать виджеты из macOS Big Sur можно здесь, а для их установки достаточно пару раз кликнуть по скачанному файлу. Затем в появившейся теме для Rainmeter можно настроить виджеты, ярлыки, web-ссылки и многое другое, включая визуализацию аудио, активирующуюся во время воспроизведения музыки. В целом, настроек очень и очень много!

Winaero Tweaker — самый продвинутый твикер Windows

Если уж и говорить о полной кастомизации Windows 10, то мощнее утилиты Winaero Tweaker во всем Интернете не найти. Количество возможностей зашкаливает, а потому найти что-то интересное для себя удастся практически каждому пользователю. Единственный недостаток программы — она полностью на английском языке, поэтому без переводчика в некоторых моментах не обойтись.

Winaero Tweaker действительно очень серьезно позволяет изменить внешность Windows 10, а потому перед внесением каких-либо настроек обязательно нужно сделать «Точку Восстановления» системы. Так вы убережете себя и с легкостью сможете вернуться на исходную, если вдруг накликаете лишнего.

Функционал программы настолько обширен, что для полного его описания не хватит и целой статьи — потребуется целый цикл материалов. Как минимум, Winaero Tweaker предлагает:

смену шрифта;
включение старых системных программ в Windows (просмотрщик фото, калькулятор, классических игр и т. д.);
возвращение старых иконок в «Панели задач»;
изменение толщины рамок окон, размера заголовка окон, клавиш управления (закрыть, свернуть/во весь экран);
отключение автоматических обновлений системы;
изменение звука включения компьютера;
изменение анимации загрузки;
изменение размера контекстного меню и т. д.

PowerToys — набор полезных возможностей от Microsoft

Программа с многолетней историей, так как изначально Microsoft создавала ее под Windows 95, затем адаптировала под Windows XP, а спустя 12 лет перевыпустила ее уже под Windows 10. Утилита окажется незаменимым помощником для многих пользователей ПК, предлагая следующие возможности:

Цветоподборщик — позволяет сделать выбор цвета в любом месте, в любой программе с последующей детальной настройкой оттенков и копированием итогового результата в буфер;
FancyZones — продвинутый диспетчер окон с очень гибкой настройкой для возможности создания сложных макетов и последующего позиционирования в них окон для максимальной многозадачности;
ImageResizer — мгновенное изменение разрешения изображения через контекстное меню без открытия самой картинки;
Диспетчер клавиатуры — позволяет переназначать функции клавиш;
PowerRename — массовое переименование, поиска и замены файлов;
PowerToysRun — продвинутый поиск файлов, приложений и запущенных процессов.

Программа, как видно, не претендует на кастомизацию системы, зато существенно улучшает функционал ОС без ущерба производительности.

QuickLook — быстрый предпросмотр без открытия

Всеядный предпросмотрщик файлов (если установить дополнительные плагины) и папок с выводом основных свойств (размер и количество файлов, дата последнего изменения, разрешение, длительность и т. д.). Для предварительного просмотра необходимо нажать пробел и кликнуть по необходимому файлу, а для открытия файла в стандартном приложении, находясь в режиме предпросмотра, достаточно нажать на клавишу Enter.

Do you like to experience Fluent Design for Brightness, Airplane mode, and Volume flyout? You can replace the traditional Windows flyout with Metro Design using an app available in Microsoft store. ModernFlyouts is the app that allows changing the style of this aspect of the operating system. With this application, it is finally possible to replace the old-fashioned flyout for audio and music playing in Windows 10.

Upon installing this app small flyout will appear by default when activating airplane mode and pressing specific keys such as NUM LOCK, CAPS, scroll lock, and the Insert key. Furthermore, this app hosts several options for customization of the flyout and supports the Windows light and dark theme. You are able to choose the level of opacity of the panel, the time it takes for it to disappear, and where to make it appear – top right, left, and so on.

Once installed, click on the application name from Start menu.
Choose the Default flyout from the 3 options.

Change the appearance by configuring Flyout theme, App theme, Topbar visibility, Opacity, and Behavior.
Click – Layout.
Customize the layout by customizing Flyout placement, expand direction, and content stacking direction.
Now go to Audio under Flyout module and see the options there.
Similarly, customize Airplane mode, brightness, and Lock keys.

An open source, contemporary, and Fluent Design-based alternative to Windows 10’s outdated Metro-themed flyouts. Despite their ongoing efforts, Microsoft still has a ways to go before upgrading every aspect of Windows, its main operating system.

An open-source project called ModernFlyout is based on ADeltaX/Flyout. As mentioned, it swaps out your PCs’ standard flyout for one that seems more contemporary. It makes your flyout appear to be a component of Windows 10 and Windows 10X PCs because of its superb execution of Fluent Design and rounded corners. Additionally, it is totally configurable. Each module can be turned off, and its position can be altered. Even the opacity level and panel orientation for the session are adjustable. Additionally, the program offers themes with low, medium, and high contrast.

The flyouts’ timeout may also be changed in the software, which is a fantastic method to make it less intrusive. Even the Global Media Transport Controls (GSMTC), sometimes known as media controls for all apps, may be hidden with a single press. Media controls like shuffle, repeat, and stop can also be added.
