Эта статья актуальна для тех пользователей, у кого на компьютере/ноутбуке 2 видеокарты (интегрированная и дискретная).
Я думаю, что многие сталкивались с таким неприятным «явлением», когда какая-нибудь игра упорно запускается на интегрированной видеокарте и из-за этого тормозит. И никакие ухищрения не позволяют заставить ее работать на дискретной карте…
Что же… В ОС Windows 10/11 есть одна «скрытая от глаз» опция, которая позволяет решить сию проблему (в моих тестах: с теми играми, с которыми раньше были подобные проблемы — теперь их нет, работают, как и положено на дискретном адаптере).
Теперь о том, как задать эту настройку… 👌

Запуск игры на дискретной видеокарте
📌 Совет №1
Для начала хотелось бы сделать сноску о том, что необходимо зайти в настройки видеоадаптера, и для нужной игры указать «Высокопроизводительный процессор…» (т.е. так, чтобы она запускалась на дискретной карте, см. скриншот ниже 👇).

📌 Совет №2
Раньше, Windows (несмотря на настройки видеодрайвера, как в совете №1) могла некоторые игры запускать всегда на интегрированной карте. Сейчас, за этом «момент» отвечает спец. флажок…
И если вы уже настроили видеоадаптер, то проверьте настройки «производительности адаптера» в подразделе «Дисплей» (о них ниже).

1. Для этого сначала необходимо открыть параметры Windows (либо через ПУСК, либо сочетанием Win+i), раздел «Система / Дисплей» — далее перейдите в «Настройки графики» (см. скриншот ниже 👇).

2. Затем нажмите по кнопке «Обзор» и выберите ту игру (приложение) для которой хотите изменить уровень производительности видеоадаптера.

3. После добавления игры в список, щелкните по ней левой кнопкой мышки и в появившемся меню выберите «Параметры». См. пример на скрине ниже. 👇

4. Далее передвиньте ползунок в режим «Высокая производительность» и нажмите кнопку «Сохранить». При выборе «Энергосбережение» компьютер будет пытаться экономить заряд батареи (электроэнергию) и будет задействовать интегрированную карту.

Вот, собственно, и все. После задания этих параметров, игры запускаются на дискретной карте.

Если у вас нет такого параметра в Windows 10 — просто обновите систему до последней версии! В Windows 11 это должно быть по умолчанию!

В BIOS у некоторых ноутбуков может быть спец. опция, отвечающая за режим работы видеокарт (см. скрин ниже — строка «Graphics Device» у Lenovo ThinkPad). Как видите — можно задействовать определенную видеокарту, например, только дискретную. Рекомендую попробовать!

Некоторые пользователи Windows 11 в последнее время могли заметить, что в углу панели задач слева показывается виджет погоды, другие — напротив, могут не наблюдать у себя такого индикатора, но хотели бы его включить.
В этой простой инструкции для начинающих о том, как включить или, наоборот, убрать погоду с панели задач Windows 11 и какой компонент системы отвечает за её отображение.
Кнопка «Мини-приложения» теперь показывает погоду
За показ погоды на панели задач отвечает кнопка «Мини-приложения» (виджеты). В связи с тем, что особой пользы для русскоязычного пользователя она не несла, многие её отключили или даже удалили ранее, когда Windows 11 только вышла. Если вы хотите видеть погоду — кнопку мини-приложений потребуется включить и наоборот.
Для того, чтобы включить или отключить кнопку виджетов и, соответственно — погоды на панели задач, выполните следующие шаги:
- Нажмите правой кнопкой мыши в пустом месте панели задач.
- Выберите пункт «Параметры панели задач».
- Включите «Мини-приложения» в разделе «Элементы панели задач». Или, если показ погоды не нужен — отключите этот пункт.
Если после этого ничего кроме кнопки виджетов, возможно не выровненной по левому краю, не появилось, обновите приложения Microsoft Store:
- Откройте Microsoft Store и перейдите в пункт «Библиотека».
- Нажмите «Обновить все» (возможно, сначала потребуется нажать «Проверить обновления»).
- После обновления потребуется перезагрузка компьютера.
В результате на панели задач будет (или, если вы отключили — не будет) отображаться погода в автоматически определенном местоположении, либо, если вы настроили расположение вручную в мини-приложениях — погода в указанном вами месте:
Чтобы настроить город, для которого показывается погода, нажмите по кнопке погоды на панели задач, затем — по трем точкам у соответствующего виджета и выберите «Настроить мини-приложение». В настройках можно будет отключить автоматическое определение местоположения и вручную ввести нужный город.

Способ 1: Активация мини-приложений
Если вы начали пользоваться Windows 11 и в левом углу панели задач не обнаружили виджета погоды, который по умолчанию используется в мини-приложениях, значит, вся эта панель по каким-то причинам отключена в вашей сборке операционной системы. Понадобится активировать ее отображение, организовав тем самым и показ погоды в вашем городе. Для выполнения этой задачи следуйте инструкции.
- Откройте меню «Пуск» и нажмите по значку с изображением шестеренки для перехода в «Параметры».
- В новом окне перейдите к разделу «Персонализация» и выберите категорию «Панель задач».
- Теперь вам предстоит отыскать группу «Элементы панели задач» и переключить ползунок возле «Мини-приложения» в состояние «Вкл.».
- Перезагружать ОС или «Проводник» в этом случае не нужно, просто обратите внимание на левую часть панели задач и убедитесь в том, что там присутствует отображение погоды.
Способ 2: Добавление мини-приложения «Погода» на общую панель
Если погода отображается у вас на нижней панели, но в списке мини-приложений отсутствует, из-за чего не получается получить дополнительную информацию или изменить настройки, значит, это мини-приложение отключено на панели. Вам понадобится вручную его активировать и закрепить в удобном месте, чтобы использовать по необходимости.
- Нажмите по значку погоды на панели задач, чтобы развернуть общую панель мини-приложений. Справа вверху щелкните по кнопке с плюсом для открытия всех доступных мини-приложений.
- Найдите в списке «Добавить мини-приложения» строку «Погода» и нажмите по плюсику рядом с ней.
- Вы увидите, как виджет появился на пустом месте панели. Можете закрепить его при помощи скрепки или перетащить в любое место, зажав левой кнопкой мыши.
Способ 3: Установка ViVeTool
Метод с использованием ViVeTool актуален в тех случаях, когда мини-приложения в вашей сборке Windows 11 отсутствуют. Это может быть связано с их удалением, если речь идет о любительских сборках, или с использованием старой версии ОС, которая не обновляется до следующих сборок. В таком случае на помощь приходит сторонняя вспомогательная утилита с названием ViVeTool.

- Утилита ViVeTool имеет открытый исходный код, соответственно, распространяется бесплатно. Перейдите по ссылке выше, чтобы найти последнюю версию программы и скачать ее архив на свой компьютер.
- По завершении скачивания откройте этот архив через удобный для вас сторонний архиватор или стандартное средство просмотра архивов в Windows.
- Распакуйте находящиеся файлы в любой каталог на вашем жестком диске или SSD.
- Теперь понадобится запомнить полный путь к конечной папке с исполняемым файлом ViVeTool. Вы можете скопировать его из адресной строки в «Проводнике» или получить расположение через свойства файла.
- Щелкните правой кнопкой мыши по кнопке «Пуск» и из появившегося контекстного меню выберите вариант «Терминал Windows (Администратор)», чтобы запустить консоль с повышенными правами.
- В консоли понадобится перейти по пути к исполняемому файлу ViVeTool, используя команду
cd. - Последующая команда будет выполняться из места расположения файла. Введите
./vivetool.exe /enable /id:38652916и нажмите Enter для применения команды. - Она отвечает за включение отключенной ранее возможности, идентификатор которой подразумевает активацию мини-приложений на панели задач. Вы должны получить уведомление о том, что функция успешно включена, после чего можете закрыть консоль.
- Перезагрузите ПК или только «Проводник», после чего проверьте, добавился ли виджет погоды на нижнюю панель и появился ли в списке мини-приложений.
Изменение города для виджета погоды
В завершение работы со стандартным виджетом рассмотрим, как поменять город для отображения погоды в настройках мини-приложения. По умолчанию Windows получает доступ к вашему текущему местоположению, но если город должен отличаться от определенного автоматически, это нужно указать для самого мини-приложения, что осуществляется так:
- Найдите мини-приложение на общей панели, затем нажмите по трем точкам справа вверху. Из появившегося списка выберите пункт «Настроить мини-приложение».
- Можете отключить автоматическое определение, а также через поиск ввести название населенного пункта или индекс, чтобы определить его.
- Вместе с этим поддерживается переключение единицы измерения с по Цельсию на по Фаренгейту или наоборот. Перед выходом не забудьте нажать «Сохранить», чтобы применить изменения.
Способ 4: Widget Launcher
Widget Launcher — решение для тех пользователей, кого не устраивает стандартное мини-приложение, установленное в Windows 11. К тому же его нельзя вывести на экран для постоянного отображения погоды, а вот в упомянутой программе такой недостаток отсутствует. Скачивание приложения осуществляется через Microsoft Store, после чего можно будет приступить к его настройке.
- Откройте «Пуск», в списке закрепленных приложений найдите «Microsoft Store» и запустите данное приложение.
- В поиске найдите «Widget Launcher» и дождитесь получения лучшего соответствия. Справа от названия приложения щелкните по «Получить».
- Ожидайте окончания установки, после чего запустите программу. В будущем вы можете самостоятельно поместить ее в автозагрузку или открывать по необходимости через значок, который добавится в меню «Пуск».
- В самой программе переключитесь на вкладку «Standard» и нажмите левой кнопкой мыши по «Weather».
- Сразу будет предложено настроить внешний вид виджета, включая его прозрачность. Можете сделать это сейчас или остановить на потом. Нажмите «Launch Widget» для запуска виджета погоды.
- Зажмите его левой кнопкой мыши и перетащите в любое место на рабочем столе. По умолчанию локация выбрана не будет, поэтому понадобится открыть настройки для ее установки.
- Введите название своего города или индекса в отведенное для этого поле, выберите подходящий результат из списка и примените его.
- Ознакомьтесь с отображением погоды на пять дней. Если значения температуры отображаются в градусах по Фаренгейту, понадобится вернуться в настройки.
- В окне активируйте переключатель на «Use Metric», чтобы переключиться на погоду по Цельсию.
- Если понадобится изменить внешний вид виджета или уменьшить непрозрачность, нажмите по значку с изображением палитры, чтобы попасть в то же самое окно, которое вы уже видели перед запуском виджета.

Method 1: Roll Back Windows Update

Method 5: Manually Open NVIDIA Control Panel
You can force the NVIDIA Control Panel to appear by launching it manually. To do so, follow the steps given below.
1. Press the Windows + E keys simultaneously to launch File Explorer.
2. Navigate to the following location path.
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation
Note: The location may vary as per your installation.
3. Double-click and open the Control Panel Client folder. Locate and right-click the nvcplui.exe file. Then, select Run as administrator from the context menu.
Check if the NVIDIA Control Panel missing Windows 10 is found again.
Method 6: Do Not Overclock GPU
Overclocking GPU removes the limitation of the graphics card and enables it to carry out above its safety limit. Thus, this process may cause an error sometimes. Therefore, it is necessary not to cross the limit. This is because going forward the limitation might stop the functioning of your graphics card. And this overclocked GPU could be the reason behind the missing NVIDIA Control Panel. 1. Press the Windows + E keys together to open File Explorer.
2. Navigate to the following location.
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Display.NvContainer
3. On the Display.NvContainer folder, locate the file Display.NvContainer. Right-click on it and select Copy from the context menu.
4. Press Windows + R keys together to launch the Run dialog box.
5. Type shell:startup and hit Enter key to launch the Startup folder.
6. On the folder, press Ctrl + V keys simultaneously to paste the copied folder.
7. Then, right-click the copied Display.NvContainer folder and select Properties from the context menu.
8. On the Properties window, go to the Compatibility tab. Now, check the Run this program as administrator box under the Settings section. Select Apply and then click OK to save the changes made.

Method 8: Reinstall NVIDIA Graphics Driver
None of the above solutions worked out? Do not worry. You have one final method to work out. It is to try and reinstall the NVIDIA Control Panel application. Here is how to uninstall and reinstall the application.
1. Hit the Windows key, type device manager, and click on Open.
2. Double-click on Display adapters to expand the driver.
3. Here, right-click the NVIDIA graphics driver or adapter and select Uninstall device in the context menu.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the driver and restart the PC.
5. Go to the NVIDIA drivers download page and fill up the NVIDIA adapter model details and select Search.
6. On the new page, click Download to download the installation wizard.
7. Once downloaded, run the setup file and install the driver on your system.
8. Finally, reboot your PC and see if you can find NVIDIA Control Panel on the desktop or system tray.

How to Check if NVIDIA chip is Installed on your Windows PC
1. Press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys together to open Task Manager.
2. On the Task Manager window, switch to the Performance tab and select GPU 0 or GPU 1 on the left pane.
3. On the right pane of GPU, see the graphics card model name present at the top right corner of the page. If it starts with NVIDIA, then the NVIDIA Control Panel should be available on your computer.

Unfortunately, there isn’t any single cause behind this error. So here are the most common causes of the NVIDIA Control Panel not showing on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Graphics Card Driver – Outdated, Corrupted, or Incompatible Graphics card driver can cause such issues. Re-Installation of a compatible driver can be a reliable solution.
- Windows Update – If you don’t check for NVIDIA Graphics Card driver update through the NVIDIA GeForce Experience. Then, maybe you are using an outdated graphics card driver. And, if you have updated Windows 11 recently, then the driver might not be compatible with your new Windows 11 version.
- Incorrect or missing registry entries – In Windows, Registry stores low-level settings of the OS and applications that opt to use the registry. NVIDIA Control Panel also opts to use registry settings. So, If any related registry entries are missing, then it can cause the Control Panel missing issue.
- Other Causes – It might be possible that due to some third-party software interference, the NVIDIA control panel got corrupted or hidden.
Well, whatever the cause, this issue can be resolved. Because I had experienced the same issue. So, if you can’t find the NVIDIA control panel on your PC, then give the following solutions a try.
You don’t have to try all solutions, just try until you find the solution that works for you. From basic to advanced, I have added all solutions to fix the missing NVIDIA Control Panel issue. Don’t hesitate in trying the advanced or complex solution if the basic doesn’t seem to work.
Solutions: NVIDIA Control Panel Missing
Solution 1: Unhide NVIDIA Control Panel.
If the NVIDIA Control Panel is installed on your Windows PC. But it’s not showing on the desktop context menu and notification tray. Then, there is a slight possibility that it might get hidden. This usually happens mostly after the NVIDIA Graphics Card Driver update. Let’s see, how you can get back the NVIDIA Control Panel, by following these steps.
1. Click on the Search icon on Windows 11 and search for “NVIDIA Control Panel”. Click on Open from search results.
Alternative Method for Windows 10 users.
- Click on the start menu, and search for Control Panel. Launch the Application from the search results by clicking on Open.
- Now, to easily access NVIDIA Control Panel, change the Control Panel view. So, In the control panel, under view, select “Large icons”.
- Scroll down a little, look for “NVIDIA Control Panel”, and click on it to open.
Note: Is NVIDIA Control Panel is not showing in Control Panel. Don’t worry, check out the next solution.
2. Once, NVIDIA Control Panel opens up, click on the Desktop menu, and enable these two options.
- Add Desktop Context Menu
- Show Notification Tray Icon
3. That’s it, Close the NVIDIA Control Panel. Now, you can access the NVIDIA Control Panel by right-clicking anywhere on the desktop or using the system tray.
4. In Windows 11, you have to click on “Show more options”.
Solution 2: Open NVIDIA Control Panel manually.
On my PC, NVIDIA Control Panel is not showing after setting up a view to Large Icons. But, On the laptop, it is showing. Ok, so if you’re facing the same issue, then no need to worry. Still, you can open the NVIDIA Control Panel and enable the context menu and notification tray options. (For context, I am using NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Graphics Card, and Windows 11 Pro version in my PC.)
1. Do open the following directory in File Explorer.
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NvContainer
Note: If you can’t find the NVIDIA Corporation folder in Program Files, then look for the same inside the Program Files (x86) Folder.
2. Now, In the NvContainer folder, you will see nvcontainer executable file. Right-click on it and then click on “Run as Administrator”.
3. You” ll now see the “NVIDIA Settings” icon in the notification/system tray.
4. Right-Click on it, and then click on “NVIDIA Control Panel”.
5. That’s it, once NVIDIA Control Panel gets open, enable those two options from the desktop menu. (Check the 4th step of the above solution.)
Solution 3: Use Task Manager.
If you’re not able to find out the NVIDIA Corporation folder inside Program Files and Program Files (x86). Then, you can take the help of the Task Manager.
1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc Keyboard shortcut to open Task Manager. (Or, you can right-click on the start menu, and from the WinX menu you can do open task manager.)
2. In Task Manager, under the processes tab, look for NVIDIA Container. (There might be multiple processes, it’s normal.)
3. Right-Click on NVIDIA Container and then click on File Location.
4. This option will open the NvContainer folder. And, from there you can execute the nvcontainer file, and then from NVIDIA settings, you can easily open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Solution 4: Access NVIDIA Control Panel in Old Laptop.
If NVIDIA Control Panel missing issue occurs on your old laptop. Then, chances are you’re using an old NVIDIA driver. In that case, you have to access the Control Panel Client folder to open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
1. Do open the following Directory.
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client
2. Inside the Control Panel Client folder you will see the nvcplui file, right-click on it. And click on “Run as administrator”. NVIDIA Control Panel will get open.
3. You can now pin it to the taskbar. Or, you can create a shortcut for it.
Solution 5: Restart NVIDIA Services.
To keep Apps and Features running in Windows, a huge number of services keep running in the background. And, each Windows program comes with a batch of services. Which launch automatically when you run that program. So, it might be possible that NVIDIA Control Panel-related services have become unresponsive or disabled. Well, in both cases, you have to restart all NVIDIA services in order for the Control Panel to re-appear.
1. Press Windows + R keyboard shortcut, Run window will get open.
2. Type services.msc in it and press the enter key.
3. Services Window will get open, now, you have to restart the following NVIDIA services. (It might be possible that only the first two appear in the services window. Which is ok.)
NVIDIA Display Container LS NVIDIA LocalSystem Container NVIDIA NetworkService Container NVIDIA Telemetry Container
4. Right-Click on the service and then choose the restart option. Do the same with all four services.
5. After restarting all four services, see if you can see the NVIDIA Control Panel in your system tray or in the context menu. If not, then you might need to update Graphics Driver.
Solution 6: Install Nvidia Control Panel App from Microsoft Store
It might be possible that NVIDIA Control Panel App got corrupted. In that case, uninstall it from Windows 11 Settings. And, installing it again from Microsoft Store, can solve the NVIDIA Control Panel not showing the issue.
1. Press the Windows + I keyboard shortcut to open Windows 11 Settings App.
2. Click on Apps > Installed Apps.
3. Scroll down and find NVIDIA Control Panel. Click on the three-dots icon next to the App name, and then click on uninstall.
4. Now, open Microsoft Store App, search for NVIDIA Control Panel, and install the App. Or, open the following link.

5. That’s it, you can now add an App in the context menu and system tray from the Desktop Menu.
Solution 7: Add NVIDIA Control Panel in Startup Folder
This solution is suggested by the NVIDIA Support team. If the control panel is missing from the system tray after restarting Windows. Then, this solution might be useful for you. Basically, in this solution, we will add the NvContainer file in the startup folder. So that, it will automatically appear in the system tray whenever you restart Windows next time.
1. First, open the following directory and copy the nvcontainer file.
C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NvContainer
For Old Laptop Users – If you’re using an old Windows laptop, then you have to copy NVDisplay.Container file from the following directory.
C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\Display.NvContainer
2. Now, Press Windows + R keyboard shortcut.
3. Type shell:startup in the Run window and press the enter key.
4. Startup folder will get open, paste the copied NvContainer file into it. (And, if you’re using an old laptop or old NVIDIA driver, then you have to paste NVDisplay.Container file in it.)
5. Now, From the startup folder, right-click on the NvContainer file and then click on properties.
6. In the Properties window, click on compatibility, and enable the “Run this program as an administrator” option. Click on Apply then click on ok.
7. That’s it, now, restart your Windows, and hopefully, the issue got resolved now.
Solution 8: Install Latest NVIDIA Graphics Driver.
It could be possible that you’re using an outdated NVIDIA Driver. And, for NVIDIA Control Panel to work, Graphics Driver needs to be up-to-date. Personally, as I mentioned, on my PC, I am using NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Graphics Card. So, to update its graphics driver, I use NVIDIA GeForce Experience software. (Don’t use third-party driver updater software.)
Manually Download and Update NVIDIA Drivers.
1. By going to the official website of NVIDIA Drivers, you can download the latest driver. You have to select your graphics card details and Windows version, in order to download the driver file.
2. Once, you select all the details, you will get the graphics card driver download option. Download and install it on your PC.
Find out Graphics Card Info.
If you don’t know which graphics card you’re using on your Windows PC or laptop. Then, to find out you can either use CPU-Z software. Or, you can use the following method.
1. Open the Run (Press Windows + R Key) Window, and type dxdiag in it.
2. DirectX Diagnostic Tool will get open with your system information.
3. Click on the Display tab, and under device details, you can find out your Graphics Card Information.
Once, you got all the required information, go to the NVIDIA Driver Download site. Enter all information and download the driver file.
Update Driver using Device Manager.
Important: Most of the time, the Device Manager doesn’t seem to work. That’s why I suggest you download and install the driver manually using the above-mentioned method.
1. Right-Click on the start button and then click on Device Manager.
2. In Device Manager, extend Display Adaptors.
And, you will see your Graphics Card. Right-Click on it, and then click on update driver.
3. After that, click on “Search Automatically for Drivers“.
That’s it, Windows will now check the driver update and will install if found.
