Как установить edge на windows 10 ltsb

Greetings,

Thanks to contributor @GOD666 with his tutorial, I was able to successfully install the Windows Store in LTSB 2016 edition.

Now, in my quest of trying to find a way on how to add Microsoft Edge, after googling and reading there and there, I found out this thread (virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/72904-Install-Microsoft-Store-and-Apps-on-Windows-10-LTSB-2016) by user dhjohns, with a script to add the browser.

Sadly, it only works on x64 editions, but even though, last week I borrowed a 64-bit computer from a friend and I wasn’t able to install it. Wish I could post the complete error log, but it had something to do with: a Manifest file not being in the root folder even though I had checked and it was there.

The objective of this thread is to ask the experts if they could at least try audit the script and to find the flaws. And I would be very grateful if you could also write a script compatible with x86 editions.

At first I didn’t figure exactly what to do with these files other than double-clicking on the .bat files. Then, after learning the errors, I realised I’d copy the language folder and the .cab file into the system32 folder and that worked halfway, until I came across 2 errors.

And other when trying to import the registry file:

Cannot import C:\Users\...\x86.reg: Error accessing the registry.

I’m not sure but I think it has something with permissions? I made sure I was running both files with as Administrator, but still no avail.

You only need to run the Install.cmd in the root folder, don’t run the another one inside the bin folder directly.

That’s what I first did but the cmd window closes so quickly that I couldn’t read what was going on.

And no sign of Edge installed.

I have updated the scripts, please download and try again.

Now the code went through its final stage where it launches Windows Update, checks for updates and confirmed that my system is up to date. Still no sign of Edge on the Start Menu.

Refrain from what I previously said.

I restarted the computer, updated the system and it’s so far so good.

Updated to use NSudo 6.0, Visual C++ is not required now.

Script not work for me. Windows 10 LTSB 14393.2068 x64 PTBR.

Does your script work ( or it’s possible to tweak it for ) with Windows Server 2016?

Have you reinstall the latest Windows 10 cumulative update (14393.2068) after installing Microsoft Edge using the script?

I did not test it on Windows Server 2016, but you can remove the LTSB Edition checking from «install.cmd» and try.

You told me your system is 14393.2068. You can install any cumulative update released on or after February 2018.
The Edge installed is 14393.0, it will not run if its version is not the same as the system, so you need to run the latest update again to apply the update to Edge.

As Win10 1803 has been released (as current speculations are, that 17133.1 is RTM) — and it contains Edge 42, based on EdgeHTML 17 (as upposed to Edge 38, based on EdgeHTML 14) — can anyone help to port it to LTSB? W10 1607 RS2 and WS2016 14393.
I use SxS extract on 17133.1 to get Microsoft-Windows-Internet-Browser-Package-amd64-10.0.17133.1.cab and Langpacks.
I rename them to mimic names of 14393.0 cabs and I install them correctly. Edge appears in Menu but doesn’t start
I probably need to change something in registry?

Am trying now first add and run Edge14 and later apply Edge17
