Internet Explorer 10 (IE 10) — Десятая по счету редакция популярного веб-браузера от Microsoft. Браузер по умолчанию был интегрирован в Windows 8, имеет совместимость с Windows 7, но не поддерживает Windows Vista и более старыми версиями Windows. Interner Explorer 10 был выпущен вместе со стартом продаж Windows 8 — 26 октября 2012 года. Браузер в Windows 8 был разделен на две категории, первая — для плиточного интерфейса Metro, там браузер не поддерживал плагины. Вторая версия — для обычной десктопной версии интерфейса.
Новая версия браузера по стандарту была улучшена в основным веб-технологиях — JS, CSS3 и HTML5 и аппаратное ускорение. Сам интерфейс десктопной версии практически не внес в себе существенных изменений

Microsoft Internet Explorer is a web browser application created by Microsoft primarily for Microsoft Windows. It was initially based on Spyglass Mosaic. At various points, Internet Explorer was also available for MacOS, Solaris, and HP-UX.
At its 1995 release, Internet Explorer competed with the Mosaic web browser and Netscape Navigator. Home Internet access was still somewhat new and competed against proprietary services like CompuServe, AOL, and Microsoft’s own MSN.
Microsoft aggressively and abusively positioned Internet Explorer as part of their «browser war» to eliminate all competition. Microsoft fiercely pushed third party products to bundle Internet Explorer, and web sites to work only in Internet Explorer.
In 1998, Microsoft was hit with an antitrust suit, much of which involved their browser bundling.
By around 2004, Microsoft had destroyed most of their competition, dominated the browser market, and let IE stagnate until Mozilla.org released Firefox.
After Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft supplanted IE with «Microsoft Edge» which eventually switched to the Google Chrome rendering engine. Something that would have been unthinkable back then.
Internet Explorer is freely redistributable. But is archived here, as much software (stupidly) requires it.
Release notes
Internet Explorer 10 was bundled with Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. It could be installed on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
In Windows 8 «Metro» mode, IE 10 includes a new minimal user interface for idiots that like running everything full screen.
As expected, Microsoft has just released the Preview version of IE10 for Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit PCs. The browser that comes preinstalled on Windows 8 based PCs and tablets is now also available for Win7 OS. Older versions of Windows, however, are not supported. It should be noted that this is just Preview release, final version of IE10 is expected to be released in 2013. Preview build is available to developers as well as to public for broader testing so that the critical issues can then be ironed out in final version.
Internet Explorer 10 is said to bring improved performance and support for more web standards. Release Preview version is available on IE test drive website and can be downloaded in the language of your choice. Here’s the download link:

Head over to the page linked above, select the version (32 bit or 64 bit) and language of your choice, then click the download button. On Windows 7 32 bit, you will get IE10-Windows6.1-x86-en-us.exe file while on 64 bit OS, it will be IE10-Windows6.1-x64-en-us.exe. File name may vary slightly depending on the language of your choice. You can then install the exe on your PC.
You may have to restart your PC after installing IE10, no surprises there :).
