I just replaced an older HP printer with an 8710. Prior to doing so I removed all of the old HP software. I had no noticeable issue with the quick setup but everytime i click on the HP 8710 link via ‘All Apps» all i have are the following options:
1. Connect a new device
2. Add more software
There is no scanning software or other management software that was installed.
When i ran the setup the only option i did not select was the one to send telemetry data to HP.
I have also tried this using wired and wireless. same results
Printing works fine but the only way to scan is to locate the printer listed in Devices and Printers, right clicking and selecting the scan option.
Where is the HP software for scan management? The only thing i found in the docs was an HP Scan and Capture Windows 10 App which requires a login account to download from the Microsoft store.

hp scan and capture won’t open with 7500 e series photosmart. It just stopped working.My HP Officejet Pro 8500 quit working with the scan function at the same time as the others on here.
