Gran Turismo has long been one of the most popular racing game franchises, but one major drawback is its PlayStation exclusivity—just like Forza is exclusive to Xbox (for now…).
Fortunately, there are workarounds for playing Gran Turismo on PC. If you’re looking to download and play Gran Turismo 7 on your PC, here’s everything you need to know.
How to Download Gran Turismo for PC
Currently, Gran Turismo is only available on PlayStation consoles. Despite persistent rumors, Gran Turismo 7 does not have an official PC release.
However, you can still play Gran Turismo on PC through two methods…
Remote Play
The easiest way to do this is through Remote Play. It really is as simple as it sounds. All you need to do is set up Remote Play in your PlayStation 5 by going to Settings > System > Remote Play and turning on Enable Remote Play.
You’ll then need to download and install the PS Remote Play app to play Gran Turismo on PC and buy a copy of Gran Turismo 7 if you don’t have the game already.
Here are the PC system requirements for remote play:
- OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Processor: 7th Generation Intel® Core™ processors or later
- Storage space: 100 MB or more
- RAM: 2 GB or more
- Display resolution: 1024 × 768 or higher
- Sound card: Required
- USB port: Required
You can use a DualSense Wireless Controller or a DualShock 4 for Remote Play with your PS5 console.

Will Gran Turismo 7 Ever Come to PC?
Gran Turismo 7 launched in March 2022 for PS5 and PS4. Since the series began in 1997, Gran Turismo has been a PlayStation-exclusive franchise. This means, historically speaking, Gran Turismo 7 is unlikely to come to PC. However, PlayStation Studios has expanded into other types of media outside of PS systems.
First-party Sony titles like Spider-Man, God of War, Uncharted, and The Last of Us Part 1 have all been re-released on PC.

There have also been films produced by PS Studios in recent years, including Uncharted and Gran Turismo itself. We can’t forget about the critically acclaimed The Last of Us TV show, either.
Most of the PlayStation games that have made the jump to PC, though, are originally PS4 titles, as Sony won’t want to detract from its PS4 and PS5 sales.
But, suppose a PC version of GT7 is released, it will likely have all of the incredible high specs that we see with its PS5 version. That means 4K resolution graphics, ray tracing, 60 FPS refresh rate, and top-quality sound will all be available. If any when that happens, though, is still up in the air…
When Could Gran Turismo 7 Come to PC?
So, things could be about to change with Gran Turismo, as for it to directly compete with Forza, it must make the transition to PC. While GT has never been released on PC, it’s a possibility in the future.
Speaking with Japanese media, Kazunori Yamauchi said he is considering bringing Gran Turismo 7 to PC, but a PC port is not currently in development.

How Long Would a PC Port Take to Make?
That isn’t easy to answer, but the fact GT7 is on PS5 helps, as gaming PCs are generally around the same as a PS5 in terms of performance. Still, GT7 is a huge game; completing a port that meets Polyphony’s quality standards would likely take upwards of a year or two.
A benefit to a future PC version, though, is that it would contain all of the content on GT7 on PS5 at the time of its release. That means if GT7 releases on PC in 2025 or 2026, it will probably have more cars, races, and tracks than the original 2022 release.
Final Thoughts
The only way to play Gran Turismo on PC is via Remote Play (GT7) or emulation (older titles).
That said, a Gran Turismo 7 PC port is possible, but Sony has not confirmed an official release date. For now, if you want a high-quality racing game on PC, consider Forza Motorsport or Assetto Corsa EVO, both of which support native PC gameplay.
