All depends about what resolution you’re using, that sounds right for any high res (approx 4000ppi) scan. Scanning Isn’t fast whatever scanner you’re using. If you’re scanning for screen or PowerPoint you are able to greatly reduce your resolution and boost the speed aof the scan. If you’re using Digital Ice to eliminate dust that doubles your scanning time, when you have dirty slides it is a help, in case your slides are relatively clean do not use Digital Ice.

More costly scanners decrease the scanning time just a little but just going to some V100 or V300 is not going to help you get much. When I am scanning for screen (1200ppi give me the very best results even with downsizing) with an Epson V700 takes a moment to some minute 5, while at 4000ppi it will take about 3-4 minutes on the 35 slide. So going up a model or two won’t help
much.
