Xpadder allows you to play your computer games with your favorite controller that only allow keyboard and mouse input. Xpadder acts as an interface between your controller and keyboard input, mapping each button press to a keyboard key, allowing the video game to be played. Xpadder has been available for 10 years and has been downloaded over 4 million times.

Xpadder detects all modern controllers and allows you to individually map each button to a keyboard press or a movement of the mouse. Xpadder is an application for configuring a game controller. It is aimed at providing the best user experience to the console users in computers.Xpadder can provide joystick support to DOS, emulated, or internet games. Users can even control video or music players, web browsers, or any typical Windows application by applying the custom configuration using this application.
Xpadder is an extremely lightweight application. It has a lot of languages to choose from. It also contains a lot of shortcuts. It is also compatible with a lot of gamepads.
However, this application does not have a free version. It only offers the paid version which contains all of the features bundled with it.

Xpadder is something every gamer could use to make their gaming more enjoyable and more convenient. Xpadder allows you to use your favorite controller while playing computer games that usually would require mouse and keyboard only. Allowing this could help gamers have better aim and stability in certain games that a keyboard or mouse just simply wouldn’t allow. Xpadder is a product that I am truly interested in for my boys who are always playing games on the xbox. I know they would love to be able to use their controllers to play computer games as well, with something they are already familiar with.

This emulator is really recommended for people like me that enjoy playing on consoles and gaming controllers, more than on a keyboard and mouse. There are a lot of PC games that can’t be played with a controller, but this can be fixed using Xpadder, because with it you can now map certain keys or mouse clicks onto various buttons on a chosen controller. I use this all the time as I have a preference for gaming controllers, and you can even use it to remap functions for games that do support controllers as well.

Xpadder is a transparent and highly competent keyboard emulator that you can use for your PC. This software allows you to get control over any type of game that doesn’t feature any support for your gamepad. Simple tools and visuals anyone who has some time to spare and can easily set up the gamepad to emulate the keyboard and their mouse in all the games they play. They do have a free version but after years of this software being here they have come up with a premium version. It’s available on all the Windows versions.
Overall, I would recommend this for gamers but ofcourse for anyone else who are also interested in games.

Caution
This project is not actively maintained. Development is sporadic and handled by a single developer, so it cannot be relied upon.
There are currently some critical bugs that make it largely unusable—input jitter and unregistered key releases are common issues.
Version 0.6.0 appears more stable, so it’s recommended for now.

Key2Joy
Simulate a Joystick/Controller/Gamepad using your keyboard, mouse or other triggers.
In addition to simply simulating a button being pressed on the Joystick, you can also write Javascript and Lua scripts to execute a more complex sequence of actions.

Using Key2Joy with a Graphical User Interface

Start Key2Joy.exe

(First time only) Accept installation of the Scp Virtual Bus Driver

Use the default mappings, modify them by double-clicking a row in the mapping-list, or add new mappings.
A trigger is something that Key2Joy will listen for. E.g: a mouse move, key press, key release, etc…
Note
Default behaviour of a trigger is disabled by default. This means setting the left mouse button as a trigger will make it so you can’t left-click anymore until you abort this app.
An action is what will happen when that trigger occurs. E.g: simulating a joystick button being pressed, a keyboard button being released, or executing a Lua/Javascript script.

Tick the Arm Mappings checkbox for Key2Joy to start listening for triggers that will execute the configured actions.

When you’re done using Key2Joy, uncheck the Arm Mappings checkbox to stop listening for triggers.
In the default profile there is also a mapping that stops Key2Joy from listening using the
Escape-key. Don’t forget to include such a mapping for your custom profiles.
Note
Check out the 🐕🦺 Tips & Tricks category in the discussions for tips and tricks. Certain inputs may be tricky to configure, but there’s usually a way to get it working.
Warning
Please be careful using this tool in multiplayer/competitive games. It may be considered cheating and get you banned. Some games may only ban you after a while, so don’t assume you’re safe just because you haven’t been banned yet.
Using Key2Joy with a Command Line Interface

Run
Key2Joy.Cmd.exe enablein a command-prompt:- This will start Key2Joy if it’s not already running. (Note: you need to have started the GUI app (Key2Joy.exe) at least once since installing)
- By default it will enable the last used profile
- You can use
--profile default-profileto specify which profile file to enable (you don’t have to include the.k2j.jsonextension)

Running
Key2Joy.Cmd.exe disablewill disable the active profile
Scripting
You can create scripts in Lua or Javascript that perform a sequence of actions with more complex logic.
Here is a simple example of a script that holds the «A» button on a gamepad for 500 ms and then stops simulating input:

You probably want to bind scripts only to the «Release» press state of triggers. Otherwise a script will be executed both on key down AND up.

Known Issues and Limitations

Windows wont let you click if you release a mouse key that hasn’t been pressed before.

Keyboard triggers do not activate when the app is in the foreground.

If you run another app as administrator, Key2Joy can only simulate input in that app if Key2Joy is also running as administrator.
Uninstalling
Use ScpDriverInstaller.exe to uninstall the driver. You can find the latest version here: mogzol/ScpDriverInterface releases
Warning
Do not uninstall the driver through Device manager or you’ll end up with a corrupt driver installation which may cause a blue screen. You may be able to recover from this by starting Windows in Safe-mode, running ScpDriverInstaller.exe and choosing «Uninstall».

To enjoy video games on your computer, the keyboard and mouse can be an emergency solution, but any gamepad will offer you more features and comfort. There are games compatible with this kind of controller, but others only allow you to handle them with the keyboard and mouse. For these cases you can use Xpadder.
