QBasic/QuickBASIC with up-to-date Windows Editions — Two Solution Methods
Since Qbasic and QuickBASIC cannot be executed on present-day operating systems directly, two different solutions are subsequently provided for download. Both are comprehensive software bundles containing all major QBasic and QuickBASIC releases as well as VisualBASIC for DOS.
Virtual Machine (Abbreviation: VM)
An entire operating system, in this case DOS v6.22, will be provided as a guest system in order to run QBasic in its initial environment.
DOS Emulator
While almost every operating system can be executed in a VM, a DOS emulator supports only a single OS. QBasic is an interpreter for the Quick Basic. It works only on the Windows operating system. QBasic has a background processing capability that lets it process everything in the background.This application is very lightweight. It requires only 16MB of RAM. It also takes a very little amount of storage to install and compile its processes. Therefore, it also works well on the older computers.
However, currently, QBasic has very limited functionality. It does not support object-oriented programming. The software does not get updated that much. It does not offer decent community support either.

I am confused on why an interpreter would even need to be downloaded. QBasic is suggested to be downloaded to ensure that the old Quick Basic will not cause a slow down of service with Windows 10. I am not tech savvy to say the least but it seems a little much to use somewhat the same name to upgrade to an abbreviated name to enhance the program. I have heard that some things are not compatible with Windows 10 and the old versions but have no idea why it has to be difficult.

This may be one of the quickest and easiest options for Basic programming on Windows. Comes from Windows too so you know it won’t become obsolete. This is a low memory fast startup interpreter. I’m not sure how it works with larger programs but if you just want a Basic shell you can launch and run toy programs this works great. Again, it may work well for larger projects, I just don’t have any experience doing that kind of thing with Basic.
