Неплохой принтер Canon 2900… Но бывает, что с его установкой нужно повозиться. Это и при государе-императоре седьмой винде было. Это и при десятой сохранилось.
Давеча я подключил этот принтер к ноуту под Windows 10 64bit. Напишу-ка тут про процедуру. Людям не шибко опытным это может быть полезно (если google приведёт их сюда).
Установка принтера CANON LBP2900B на компьютер под Windows 10 64bit
1. Заходим на сайт поддержки Canon. Ищем драйвер для нашего принтера. Забавно, но в разделе Windows 10 драйвера нет! Сохраняем спокойствие (по мере сил) и ищем драйвер в разделе Windows 7 64 bit. Там, кстати, официально указано, что этот драйвер годится и для Windows 10. Загружаем драйвер.
2. Подключаем принтер к компьютеру с помощью USB-кабеля и включаем его.
3. Windows находит новое устройство и ставит драйверы по умолчанию. Но это не драйверы принтера, а драйверы некоего программного USB-устройства.
4. Сохраняем спокойствие! По мере сил. Щёлкаем по системной Windows-иконке и заходим в Параметры (иконка в виде шестерёнки). В поисковой строке набираем Диспетчер устройств. Заходим в этот самый Диспетчер и ищем наш принтер в разделе Программные устройства.
5. Делаем двойной щелчок по названию нашего принтера и заходим на вкладку Драйвер. Выбираем опцию Обновить. Далее － опцию ручного указания папки для поиска драйвера.
6. Выбираем ту папку, в которую был загружен драйвер в п.1.
7. Система устанавливает нужный драйвер и теперь в системе появляется принтер. That’s all, folks!

Connect the USB cable after installing the driver.
Driver and application software files have been compressed.
The following instructions show you how to download the compressed files and decompress them.
1. To download files, click the file link, select [Save], and specify the directory where you want to save the file.The download will start automatically.
2. Downloaded files are saved in the specified folder in a self-extracting format (.exe format).
3. Double-click the files to decompress them. A new folder will be created in the same folder.The new folder will have the same name as the compressed file.
4. Double-click the decompressed Setup.exe file to start installation.

Method 3 – Install Windows Updates
- In the Windows search bar, type Windows Update.
- Click Check for Updates > download and install updates, if available.
- Next, click optional updates.
- Unhide Driver updates > check mark the box next to driver updates and click Download and install.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and reboot your computer to apply changes.

Method 4 – Update Printer Driver
If the above methods didn’t work, it seems the printer driver is outdated or corrupt. We will update the latest version of the printer driver. If you have technical skills, you can try manual ways. However, we recommend the automatic method if you want to save time and update the driver risk-free.

4.1 -Manually Update Canon Printer Driver
