Disconnect the USB cable that connects the device and computer before installing the driver.
Connect the USB cable after installing the driver.

The following instructions show you how to download the compressed files and decompress them.

How to install Canon LBP 2900 driver on Windows

Method 1: Install Canon LBP2900 Driver by using its driver pack
Requirements:

- Need a Software/Driver Setup file of Canon LBP2900B. You can download it from the above links, according to your Operating System.
- Need a USB cable that will connect your printer to the computer. It came with the printer.
Steps:
- Unplug the printer’s USB cable from the computer.
- Download Canon lbp2900 driver from the above download section. Then double-click on the downloaded file.
- Click on yes on in the ‘user account control’ prompt.
- After clicking on ‘yes’, it will start extracting the driver. Let it be finished.
- Driver files have been extracted from the same location. Open that folder (LBP2900_R150_V330_W64_uk_EN_2).
- You’ll now get two more folders there. Double-click on x64 / x86 folder. If you have downloaded the driver for 32bit, then go to the x86 folder. If you have downloaded the driver for 64bit, then open the x64 folder.
- In x64 folder, you’ll setup.exe file, double-click on it.
- Click on Yes to to allow setup.exe to run.
- The installation has started now. Follow the on-screen instructions. Click on Next. If the following screen does not appear on your computer or doesn’t install as shown then check out this video tutorial to learn how to install a driver using compatibility mode.
- Click on Yes to agree its term and conditions.
- Select “Install with USB connection” and click on Next.
- Now the installer is reminding you to make sure your computer’s firewall is not blocking this installation process. If so, then allow the blocking issue from the firewall. Click on Yes.
- Confirm once more by clicking on Yes.
- Now, it is asking you to plug the printer into the computer. So plug your printer’s USB cable into the computer’s USB port.
Note: Don’t plug the printer into the computer until this prompts. If this happens to you mistakenly then start over from the beginning.
- Follow the rest of the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
- That’s it. click on Exit. Your printer will be installed after the USB cable is plugged-in to the computer. If you face any problems while downloading and installing it then report to us here.
Method 2: Install canon lbp2900b driver with software CD
Method 2 Requirements:
- Need one CD/DVD Drive installed on your computer.
- Need a Software/Driver CD Disk of Canon Laser Shot LBP2900B, which came with the printer.
- Need a USB cable that will connect your printer to the computer. It came with the printer.
Follow these steps to install the Canon Laser Shot LBP 2900 printer with CD Drive

- Follow the wizard instructions to finish it.
- Once finished, you will get your Canon Laser Shot LBP 2900B installed & ready to use.
Method 3: Install Canon LBP 2900 Driver Manually

Method 3 Requirements:
- Need a Software/Driver Setup file for the 2900 printer. You can download it from the above links, according to your Operating System.
- Need a USB cable that will connect your printer to the computer. It came with the printer.
Follow these steps to install Canon Laser Shot LBP 2900B Printer Driver Manually
- Turn on your computer where you want to install the Canon LBP 2900 printer on it.
- Turn it on the printer as well.
- Connect the printer’s USB cable from Printer to computer.
- Extract the setup file. (The default folder location is TEMP). Sometimes, it extracts to the same folder or any other folder in the C drive.

How to Install Canon LBP 2900B Driver on MAC

In this installation guide, we will describe the proper way of installing the Canon LBP 2900B driver package on a Mac OS computer.

That’s it, you have successfully uninstalled the old version of the Canon LBP 2900B driver from your computer. You can now proceed to the next section to install the new printer driver.
B) Install the New Printer Driver

- Go into the Canon patch folder of Step 1. Locate and right click the ‘captmoncnab3’ file, then choose the ‘Copy’ option.
- Now, right click inside the ‘Bidi’ folder you opened in Step 7 and choose ‘Paste Item’ from the options.
- A file with the same name already exists in this folder. You will be asked for the confirmation to replace the existing file. Click on the ‘Replace’ button to confirm.
- Enter the administrator password to provide the necessary privileges, then click on the ‘OK’ button.
- You can see the new file copied inside the Bidi folder.
- Go back to the ‘CUPSCAPT2’ folder as in Step 7, then locate and open the ‘cnaccm’ folder.
- Again go to the Canon patch folder of Step 1. Locate and right click the ‘CnAC28B9’ file, then select the ‘Copy’ option.
- Right click inside the ‘cnaccm’ folder you opened in Step 13 and select ‘Paste Item’ from the options.
- You will be asked for the permission to replace the existing file with the same name in the folder, just click on the ‘Replace’ button to confirm.
- Enter the administrator password and click on the ‘OK’ button to proceed with the replacement of the file.
- Click on the ‘Search’ link at the top-right corner of the screen.
- In the Search, type ‘terminal’ and press ‘Enter’.
- Inside the Terminal, paste the following command ‘xattr -cr /Library/Printers/Canon/CUPSCAPT2/Bidi/captmoncnab3’ and press ‘Enter’ to run the command. This is an extremely important step, otherwise, you will be shown the error that the ‘captmoncnab3’ file is damaged and the Mac OS will be unable to open the file.
- After successfully executing the command, click on the ‘Close’ button to close the Terminal window.
- Click on the ‘Apple’ icon and choose ‘System Preferences’ from the options.
- In System Preferences, click on the ‘Printers & Scanners’ option.
- In the Printers & Scanners window, click on the ‘Plus’ sign.
- In the Add Printer window, under Printer Name, select the ‘Canon LBP2900’ printer, then in the ‘Use’ field, choose ‘Select Software’ from the list.
- In Printer Software window, choose the ‘Canon LBP3000 CAPT (UK)’ name, then click on the ‘OK’ button.
- In the Add Printer window, click on the ‘Add’ button.
- Wait for the Canon LBP2900 setup to complete.
- Right click the printer name and select ‘Set default printer’ option.
- The new printer will be listed with ‘LBP3000’ name. Don’t worry about it, because we have already replaced the LBP3000 driver file with the new patched file of LBP2900B driver. Right click the printer and choose ‘Rename printer’ option.
- In the pop-up, type ‘LBP 2900B’ in the ‘Name’ field, then click on the ‘OK’ button.
- The new printer is now named ‘LBP 2900B’ and has been set as the default printer.

Установка драйвера в Windows 10
Итак, для начала качаем драйвер по ссылке, которая размещена выше. После скачивания откройте файл (архив) и в этой же папки появится новая папка с драйверами. Зайдите в нее.
Здесь должна быть папка «32bit» или «x64» — зависит от того, для какой системы вы скачали драйвера. Зайдите в ту, которая соответствует установленной на вашем компьютере операционной системе.
Запускаем файл «Setup.exe» двойным кликом.
После запуска установки мы увидим приветствие от мастера установки (Setup Wizard). Следуем инструкциям мастера , нажимаем «Далее» («Next»).
На следующем шаге видим лицензионное соглашение на английском языке. Текст соглашения стандартный, знание языка не потребуется. Нажимаем «Yes» и продолжаем установку.
Теперь Мастер установки попросит определиться с выбором порта для аппарата – «Ручная установка порта» или «Установка посредством USB-соединения». Выбираем второй вариант («Install with USB connection») и продолжаем («Next»).
После предыдущего шага можем увидеть следующее предупреждение: «Для того чтобы увидеть состояние принтеров в сети, необходимо изменить настройки файрволла относительно «Canon LBP2900». Соглашаемся для продолжения установки.
Еще одно предупреждение: «Установку нельзя будет остановить до окончания. Хотите продолжить?» Если ваши намерения по установке не изменились, жмем «Да».
На последнем шаге выполняем инструкции Мастера: подключаем USB кабель к принтеру, включаем принтер. Дожидаемся окончания установки.
Теперь можете пробовать распечатать свой документ.
