KMSSS.exe — что это такое?
Применяется для незаконной активации популярного софта.
Антивирусы определяют угрозу как Win32/HackKMS, HackTool:Win32/AutoKMS. Угрозу способен находить даже защитник Windows.
Название KMSSS.exe расшифровывается как KMS Server Service.
Папка запуска:
C:\Windows\Setup\SCRIPTS\data\bin\
Либо:
C:\Program Files\ProgramData\KMSAuto\bin
Папка driver — видимо для работы драйвера, чтобы обойти защиту лицензирования софта. В папке также могут быть другие компоненты — TunMirror.exe, файл лога (KMSSS.log).
Может устанавливать собственную службу KMSEmulator, запускающая вирус. Также могут быть задания в планировщике.

В базу Dr.Web 2018-06-12 был добавлен вирус, в списке процессов которого — присутствует KMSSS.exe:
Троян — тип вируса, который живет на ПК и может получать команды из командного центра. Трояны могут образовать сеть ПК, которые выполняют команду из центра управления (ботнет). Команды могут посылаться автоматически либо вручную.

Что делать?
- Просканировать ПК тремя лучшими утилитами: Dr.Web CureIt!, AdwCleaner, HitmanPro. Первая — против опасных угроз, две следующие — против рекламного и шпионского ПО.
- Проверить список служб на наличие KMSEmulator. Если присутствует — нажать два раза по службе, остановить работу и отключить. Желательно попробовать удалить. Не стоит использовать хакерские инструменты активации софта. Никто не даст гарантии отсутствия вирусного кода. Активатор может работать нормально, а через месяц например запустит скрытую функцию отправки паролей злоумышленнику.
