Does anyone experience the same issue where either during Windows 10 installation or booting into
Windows 10, after the windows logo, the display screen immediately turn black. If you use a flash light and point close to the screen, you could still see your windows desktop icon/mouse cursor on a very dark display. If i attach a second monitor, the windows 10 desktop will be visible on the external monitor.
MacOS Catalina run fine for my macbook.
Specs and environment:
Mac: Macbook Pro 13″ inch early 2015
Mac OS: MacOS Catalina v10.15.5
Boot Camp Assistance v6.1.0 (6170.100.24)
Windows 10 v2004 x64
i tried reset PRAM/NVRAM, uncheck automatically adjust screen brightness in Windows 10, reinstall bootcamp driver and still doesn’t work.
Any advise/fix for this?
Thanks in advance.

Hi! I have upgraded my graphics card to a Asus gtx 970 and now when I try to boot into windows on my second hard drive, windows boots but the screen is still black. Is there something wrong with the display driver on windows? I have tried to reinstall windows again but since I cannot see anything I can’t do anything.

Does it show the blue Windows 10 logo and then go black for 5 minutes, then the login screen finally shows up?
Disabling the App Readiness service fixes that issue.

You may need to install your old gpu then install nvidia drivers so that the 970 can work. Windows can on occasion download a basic nvidia driver on its own given some time, and on a reboot may then display a screen. It’s always better to then go and download the proper driver from nvidia. What card were you using prior to the 970?

1) Do you mean that you can see Windows boot, but then goes black?
2) Why cannot re-install Windows? Just insert the Windows installation disc, hold C during boot, then you can start the Windows installation. And YES, you can see the screen. I’ve tried that with my non flashed 1080Ti.

Sorta having the same issue I believe. Installed new 1070ti and boots into Sierra no problem. Trying to boot into windows 10 and all I get is a black screen. No windows logo or anything. Not sure if I have to also install nvidia drivers in windows prior but would still have difficulty because nvidia software requires the gpu be installed. Any help?

If enabled, RDP into Windows and install the NVIDIA driver.
If not, put old card back in, enable RDP, then swap in NVIDIA card and RDP in to install the driver

My setup is AKiTiO Node / MacBookPro 13 inch mid 2014 with 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 (over Apple TB3 to TB2 adapter and TB2 cable) / macOS 10.12.5 Sierra / MSI GTX 1050 Ti 4GB.
I’ve installed Windows 10 using Boot Camp and now trying to use my eGPU in Windows. But it seems that Windows 10 installed using Boot Camp doesn’t support thunderbolt hotplug. So when I’m trying to connect eGPU after Windows load it can’t be detected by system and I can’t install NVidia driver. If I connect eGPU before Windows load it seems Windows find card but only thing I can see is black screen in my built in display. External display connected to the eGPU also doesn’t show anything. How can I make eGPU working with Windows 10?
To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
