Сначала, как прошить. Полная исчерпывающая информация по ТФ300, буквально все способы и версии прошивок на сайте 4PDA(для скачивания регистрация обязательна), все проверено мной лично на моем ТФ300ТГ. Все работает.

Другого способа, кроме как изучить содержание всех статей и спойлеров, не существует.

Про термины. Сток или стоковая прошивка — официальная прошивка от производителя, в нашем случае, не новее 4.2. Кастом или кастомная — прошивка собранная пользователями, не официальная. Всю терминологию вам придется изучить, и для чайника(новичка, это не обидное, это жаргон) единственный способ это делать — это поисковые системы. Они отлично умеют отвечать на вопросы по терминологии и ПО.

Но это не все. Ещё придется освоить SDK. Возможно другое ПО для ПК, и точно множество приложений для Андроид.

Единственный способ — решать проблемы по мере поступления.

На это уйдет от часа до двух недель(тоже личный опыт).

Направление движения такое:

Получить рут-права.

Разблокировать БутЛоудер.

Установить TWRP.

Освоить SDK. Не пытайтесь объять необъятное, нас тут не интересуют все возможности программы, нас интересуют решения конкретных задач.

Install TWRP custom recovery on Asus Transformer Pad TF300TG TF300TG .

  1. Download the TWRP recovery file and rename it to recovery.img and paste it into the Fastboot folder.
  2. Now you need to open the CMD window inside that folder. To do this, Shift + right-click on an empty blank space inside the folder and then select Open command window here.

The TWRP is a “custom recovery” method to offer so many more functions than a stock recovery. You can and its working, updated an got an LTE Connection. Everything is working.

I don’t know if you are talking about that but Asus France has announced that Android 4.2 will roll out in the next days for the Asus TF300TG.

If someone installs it I would be grateful if he can say if everything is OK after the update.

Installed it OTA restored root with OTA root keeper
Everithing works smooth and fine except the calendar widget I can’t synchronise with the 4.2 launcher.
I installed the «calendar agenda widget» (nicer and working)

Updated my unlocked TF300TG with second method from this thread and everything went fine. Successfully installed TWRP recovery afterwards (taken from the same thread), and flashed SuperSU update ZIP from here.

PS Stock 10.4.3.7 (WW sku) firmware and TWRP recovery was installed before update.
PPS Be careful! TWRP recovery version mentioned above was intended for TF300T. It seems to work fine on my TF300TG, but flashing it may be not such a good idea.

I’ve noticed absence of 4.2 versions for TG (which is natural, as TG 4.2 firmware was released very recently) and decided to flash TF300T version on my own risk.

Be careful, though. Flashing recovery intended for another model isn’t such a good idea, I’ve been lucky enough not to brick my device, but who knows what may have happened?

The 4.2 version of TWRP 2.5.0.0 also works just fine here…just flashed it successfully on my device :good:

Twrp 2500 is indeed working good.

But after doing the wipe system etc. and then flashing the blob to system with fastboot. I didn’ t have any recovery, with vol down power didn’t see the old usb icon, good moment to panic for for a while.

Took me a few to realize that the tf300tg boots directly into fastboot and no icon is needed anymore to switch to fastboot. Flashed twrp, flashed the supersu.zip to get root. And all works as it should.

1st thought was not that fast, but after a few hours it is very resposive and even running better then cromi 3.4.6.

Would love to test a cromi 4.2 version with TG-kernel for sure.

Please help me with some advice. I looked at above methods to update. But my situation is a bit different.
I have a TF300TG with android 4.1, unlocked BL and Clockwork mod recovery installed (instead of TWRP). I guess that I could use method 3 from the link above, but instead use my Clockwork mod recovery to flash the new firmware correct?

Do I understand correctly that I will lose the Clockwork mod recovery? Will i also loose the unlocked bootloader?
