To enable flash player on Server 2016:
1. Open Command prompt as Administrator and give this command:
dism /online /add-package /packagepath:»C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\Adobe-Flash-For-Windows-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.14393.0.mum»
2. Restart the computer.
3. After restart, open Internet Explorer and navigate to this page:
- https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-issues-windows-10-ie.html
4. Press the Test Flash Player button. If you see clouds moving in the animation below, you have successfully installed Flash Player.
How to Install Adobe Flash Player on Server 2019.
To enable flash player on Server 2019:
1. Open Command prompt as Administrator and give this command:
dism /online /add-package /packagepath:»C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\Adobe-Flash-For-Windows-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.17763.1.mum»
2. Restart the server and then navigate to this page to test the Flash Player.

When you’re dealing with some legacy software, such as the vSphere web client version 5.x and you’re accessing it from a Windows Server OS, You may need to install Flash Player on Windows Server 2016 for Internet Explorer. If you run a search through Google, Bing, or Qwant, you may find various entries suggesting:
- to enable Remote Desktop Host role
- to enable the Desktop experience role
- Windows 10 only solution
Fortunately, there’s no need for that. You just to have to install the proper package. Unfortunately it is not displayed as a stand-alone feature in the Server Manager wizard. You’ll have to revert to a bit a Powershell (for laziness) and dism to install package online. Here is the code:
$flash = gci (Join-Path $Env:WinDir 'Servicing\Packages') -Filter 'Adobe-Flash-For-Windows-Package*.mum'
dism /online /add-package /packagepath:$($flash.FullName)
In the code you may note the use of the Fullname property. Don’t forget that the objects returned by Get-ChildItem are FileInfo and that the default string of those objects are the filename not the full path name. Therefore, if you were to execute this command:

you’d likely to get:

The operation completed successfully.
Once you’ve done that, you just need to close your Internet Explorer Window and re-open the site with the embedded flash contents.
Please note that once enabled, you may still have issues with Flash and the vSphere client, but that’s linked to Flash, not to the handling of Flash Player by Windows and Internet Explorer anymore.

Hello,
I am having massive issues with installing Adobe Flash 24.0 my Windows 2016 Server and I am getting conflicting information. I also can’t see Flash in the Managed App in the Toolbar and Extensions. Even with following the steps documented on the website I am unable to get flash to install and a number of programs require it.
When running the exe install of Flash is states that it has been installed yet on the website it says it has not additional as mentioned it doesn’t appear in the Managed Apps.
Any help would be appricated as since this as switched from the exe to the intergrated way its been a pain!

Hello,
Thank you very much for the help — the answer was in enabling remote desktop services. Though this seems like something that you should raise with Microsoft to improve. Also improving the step by step on your own website as this isn’t mentioned at all.
Whilst I get that you pass the files to Microsoft for them to embed, at the end of the day this is still your product so would expect help to be driven from both sides.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. While we do provide Microsoft with the ActiveX Control files for Windows 8 and above, and they are included in the Server platforms, Flash Player isn’t officially supported on the Server platforms. Meaning, we don’t develop for the Server platforms, nor test on them. Discussion was had about adding comments on how to enable Flash Player on the Server platform to our documentation, but was ultimately decided not to do so since Flash Player is not supported on the Server platforms. Problem
Back in server 2012 this was an easy fix;
Windows Server 2012 – Enable Flash
However try and do that on Server 2019 or 2016 and this happens;

Solution
Note: You need Server Datacenter version to do this.
If you o to the flash website and it (wrongly,) thinks you are using Windows 10 (we it’s the same code, I’ll let them off,) and it also says “it’s already installed just enable it”, but it’s not there?
You need to install it with the following command;
Server 2019
dism /online /add-package /packagepath:”C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\Adobe-Flash-For-Windows-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.17763.1.mum”
Server 2016
dism /online /add-package /packagepath:”C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\Adobe-Flash-For-Windows-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.14393.0.mum”
You will then need to reboot!
Post reboot, you will see Windows Server will now download updates for Flash, and it’s enabled.

cmd с Админскими привелегиями и:
